Fender Roland Ready Strat Customer Review

Overall: 4 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
Sound
Nice typical strat sound. Synth response with the Roland GR20 is excellent.
Features
Love the built in Roland pickup. Much better than an add on GK 3.
Ease of Use
Easy to use and maneuver the controls.
Quality
The neck needs continual tweaking at first. It is like the truss rod tightens, then backs off again when left alone for a day or two.
Value
Nice guitar for the money, especially with the Roland synth capability.
Manufacturer Support
Haven't needed product support.

Sound
David Gilmour's guitar tech said that the quality of instruments comming out of Mexico was as good as America. I agree. This guitar is the guitar that Fender has chosen to use with the Roland VG-99. Roland is owned by Fender. If you are looking for a guitar that sounds best as a Fender strat, then this guitar is not for you. You will pay alot more for an American strat. BUT! If you are one of those tradition bashing pioneers who likes to be on the cutting edge of sound technology and you are a lucky owner of the revolutionary Roland VG-99 and then this is the PERFECT guitar for you.
Features
What makes this guiat great is the Roland GK2 pickup system. Not only can I get great classic strat sounds from the guitar, but when I use my VG-99 with this pickup, I am the master of the tone universe. I can get ANY GUITAR SOUND I WANT from this thing.
Ease of Use
There is definetly a learning curve to master the VG-99...but this guitar makes it that much easier.
Quality
If you didn't know it was made in Mexico by the headstock, you would guess American.
Value
If you own a VG-99 this guitar is priceless.
