"Well worth it"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
Am my age (55) if it holds up over the years it could be the last guitar amp I ever buy to actually use on stage. Don't really like to risk taking my vintage late 50s to mid 60 amps.
Sound
Out of the box it sounds good. For surf music the clean channel is great. One thing. If you would like this to have more of a tube sound, get one of those little tube preamps (I use the cheapest ART) & hook it into the effects loop. With the pre you can get a sound very, very close to a reissue Twin Reverb. I don't use heavy distortion so my judgement of that aspect isn't the best. When I want some distortion, I usually just crank up the gain on the tube pre. Reverb is pretty good. It is, as so many people say, very loud. Plug it into a 4-12 cab (I use a Marshall) & you could use this sucker in a football stadium
Features
I like simple & this is it. Plug it in, turn it on & away you go!! A few minor adjustmens here & there with the simple tone & reverb & you're there.
Ease of Use
See above
Quality
Some people are a little nervous because it's made in China, but at least on mine everything was top notch. Quality wise it's as solid as any of the 12 other Fenders I've ever owned over the last 40 years. A friend dropped his out of the back of a van. The only damage was that the magnet on one of the speakers cracked but since it still worked fine he didn't notice it till the next day
Value
For the price you can't go wrong. A friend compared this to an amp he bought for twice as much & this blows it out of the water.
Manufacturer Support
Never need it for this but they have always been helpful in the past.
The Wow Factor
The only thing appearance wise I would change is the grill cloth. I amkes it not look as much as a Fender. I changed mine from a roll of mid 60s Fender cloth & now it almost looks like it could be a vintage blackface

"one kick ass amp"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
overall i think this amp will last me a long time, i gig fairly regular, i handle all my gear like babys, so im sure it will serve me well over the years
Sound
sound is first class, clean channel is all fender, overdrive needs tweeking to get a good sound. my rock band plays music from the rolling stones, to john melloncamp, to even pink and kelly clarkson. and the sound of this amp covers it all.
Features
features are great, reverb is not too "in your face".. could do with a chorus built in though, features are great otherwise...
Ease of Use
piss easy, plug and play, i use an epiphone lp, through to a digitech rp 80, and the amp works good with that combo.
Quality
fit and finish is perfect, cant fault anything.. fender, fender, fender..is all i can say
Value
700AU great bang for ya buck..
Manufacturer Support
never dealt with them, but reading off the other reviews i asume its first class..

My guitar and my amp are Fender, and I couldn't see myself playing anything else.FENDER ROCKS!
Sound
This has the definative Fender tone that is reconized by everybody worldwide. It's so clean,it shimmers. The distortion is great for classic rock and blues, which is what I play with my band,Rough-Shot(shameless plug).
Features
The mid contour switch is a blessing along with the footswitch and 2 types of distortion,
Ease of Use
Work with it,and you'll get what defines your sound.I had my tone set in 5 minutes.
Quality
I've read where people complain about this and that with this amp.You know what?Take care of it,and it'll last for a long time.
Value
Worth the price and then some.Where else are you going to get a tone monster like this for only $329.00?And it's a Fender to boot!
Manufacturer Support
Fender is very customer hands on with their web-site and their customer hot-line.
The Wow Factor
It has a practical look to it,nothing fancy. But seeing that Fender plate on it means that you have something of quality.

This review has been selected by our experts as particularly helpful.
i have nothing more to add, i just think that for what this amp provides, it is insanely righteous. yes, there are some characteristics that it is lacking that other people may want, like harder distortion or EFX, but ok, this doesn't have that. for what it's worth, i love it.
Sound
This thing is a bloody beast. I bought it because it is literally cheap muscle. It is extremely loud and powerful, great for gigging in decent sized venues. As many people have said, no it doesn't have hardcore distortion like what other amps/pedals offer, but it does in fact have great distortion period. It's awesome if you like playing blues, classic rock, alt. rock, and the likes. you can make a perfect sound for these types. The clean channel is of course beautiful and clear.
Features
Well, it is a simplistic model. It doesn't have any special effects or anything like that. It merely has your basic lineup of gain, 3 EQ knobs, reverb. I've heard better reverb, but this one isn't too bad. It seems it sounds better if you play cleaner overdrive w/ little gain, or of course, on the clean channel as well. The features that make this amp unique are the more drive control (which basically enhances your range and saturation for gain control, great for lead playing in many aspects) and also a mid contour control (which cuts your mid range tones and if you know how to use this right, it can seriously allow for some kickin' tones and makes way for a whole new setup of sounds). A couple other extras include a second input for guitars w/ highly sensitive pickups (so the amp isn't overpowered). also, this isn't very recommended to do, but you could play two guitars through this. other features are a foot pedal that changes between channels and also turn on/off the more drive control. there are a pre out jack and pwr in jack which allow for other devices to be looped through the amp. the pre out can also act as a line out, which allows you to play through other amps simultaneously, or you can plug a recording device or mixer in here.
Quality
so far so good. i don't have any problems yet. just bought it recently, so i'm not putting my guard down and making assumptions.
Value
i must say that 300 bucks is kickin awesome for what you get in this amp. For the power and potential, this is a steal.
Manufacturer Support
haven't needed to contact anyone
The Wow Factor
yea, it's dead sexy. i wouldn't jack on it though if that's what you're asking...

"This is a great quality amp that can be used for all kinds of music. It is well built, relatively light (48 lbs.), easy to use,"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I think I will be satisfied with this amp for a long time. I used my Music Man RD 50 for 20 years before I retired it to my music room. This amp is half the weight of my Fender twin Amp, and that is one of the main reasons I purchased it. If this were stolen, I would definately buy another one in a heartbeat.
Sound
This amp sounds great. The sound will vary with the type of guitar used. My 71 Gibson SG sounds phenominal through this amp. Distortion is great, great highs and lows, clean channel is clear and crisp. Set the drive control to about 5 or 6, you won't need any more, especially if you you use the more drive, it will scream. This amp sounds great by itself, adding any effects just enhances the sound. The controls are very responsive, so take the time to dial in your sound.
Features
The more drive feature is superb, and it works great. The only other feature is the reverb, which is pretty good, and the mid contour which is also pretty good. There are no other features, and that is why I bought this amp. It is straight forward, no special effects, no fancy bells and whistles, it is relatively light in weight, it is simple to use, and it packs a hell of a punch!! What more do you need?
Quality
This amp is made very well, very tight. The finish is beautiful and the fit is outstanding, like I said very tight. All the knobs fit well and are centered properly for fit, they don't wobble like some other amps that I have owned over the years. I have used this amp on the road, and have had no problems yet. If you take care of this amp, it will last along time. I think the factory quality control is excellent, and that comes from a person who has worked in quality control for 20 years!
Value
This amp is worth at least twice its selling price, and that is what you will pay for another amp of this power and quality from competitors. This amp blows away all the other companies for price and quality.
Manufacturer Support
So far I have not needed any support for this amp. Come to think of it I have never needed any support from fender on any of my amps, so that has got to tell you something about fender products.
The Wow Factor
This amp looks great, I like the all black look with the black grill cloth. I think it has a very stylish look to it, and therefore has a very strong stage presence.

"one hell of an amp."

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
hell yes. i would buy this amp 20 more times. (not that im actually going to do it).
Sound
One thing i noticed that was way different from my old Peavy Transtube is that the clean sounds way different. it is very loud and perfectly crisp. the distortion is unreal. it's a solid state, very rare sort of rectified hi gain distortion. take out the mid countore switch and it sounds relativly like a tube amp. it just gets more mid range, and that kinda sucks.
Features
i really like having two stages of distortion. and being able to scoop the mid is awesome.
Quality
its like a tank. i bet i could throw it out and fing it in a landfill 50 years later and still be able to play it.
Value
i really dont think you can get an amp like this for 300 bucks from Marshall or Peavey.
Manufacturer Support
havent needed it.
The Wow Factor

I expect I will be satisfied with this amp. Do they wear out? I have never had one wear out. If you take care of it it will take care of you.
Sound
I just recieved mine this morning via overnight shipping. Prompley on time. Customer service is great.
Features
The amp comes with a two button foot switch. Very simple to figure out. I like the weight of the amp compared to my Peavy 212 Classic Chours. The sound is great, and better than I expected. But then again it's a Fender.
Ease of Use
I pulled it out of the box and hooked it up and started playing. I figured everything out without the manual. It's that simple. Saying simple don't mean it's a cheap amp. It is a well made amp.
Quality
Very well made. Quality is superb. The finish and fit is top notch. I am sure it will be very dependable. I will bring it on the road this weekend.
Value
Well worth the price.
Manufacturer Support

The Wow Factor

"one word: amazing"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
it will be a long time before i get a new amp. this is perfect. if you want a loud, big, versital amp, and you cant afford a halfstack, buy this amp.
Sound
the distortion is amazing. it works great with the style of music i play. the footswitch gives you a lot of freedom. its very very loud, and you wont need to put it over 5 for small gigs. i used to use a distortion pedal but lately ive just plugged straight into the amp because it sounds so good.
Features
the footswitch is very useful. the reverb is pretty good. i like how it has a "more drive" feature on the second channel, so you can go from no distortion, distortion, and more distortion.
Quality
nothing has happened to it. it works fine, never gives out, doesnt get fuzzy, the sound always comes out clear. the amp is very reliable. traveling with it is a little hard, because its heavy, but it wont move around in the trunk of a car. it wont get messed up on the road.
Value
it was very worth it. there is no other amp i would want.
Manufacturer Support
i've never talked to fender, but im sure they would be very friendly.
The Wow Factor

Excellent sound especially the clean channel. Once you break in the speakers it sounds great. It is very loud when i was first trying out how loud it was I turned it up to three and it was so loud I almost threw-up. It gave me a sick felling in my stomach,it was great!

Fender FM212R Guitar Amp Customer Review

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
For me this amp is everything I need. I don't gig often, I mainly play at home. It's not too big, not too small- just a little heavy. It's a great amp. Go buy it- you'll be happy!
Sound
First and foremost, it's a solid state, so you can't come too close to a nice tube sound. I've played several solids and out of all of them, this is the best sounding solid state I've played.
Features
The footswitch is a nice feature. Something that's not listed is that there are 2 overdrives. One is normal, and the other is extra overdrive (over-overdrive). They're both really loud, but the normal overdrive sounds better than the super OD.
Ease of Use
Plug into wall, plug guitar in, turn on- go...Easy.
Quality
It's a Fender, it's tough and heavy- it's solid.
Value
For the money, it's incredible...If only tube amps were this cheap...
Manufacturer Support
My first 212R had a factory defect and had to be shipped back and replaced. That's the nice thing- they don't repair yours, they just give you a new one. The guys @ Fender are super nice and easy to deal with.
The Wow Factor
It looks good.

"Touring guitarist short on cash? --A dream."

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I will use this amp for as long as it lasts, and when it is finally dead from road use I'll probably buy a newer model of it. I don't expect this to be for quite a while.
Sound
The product does not have the greatest of clean channels, but it will get the job done just fine at any level. The first drive channel is decent, but well improved with the mid contour option, however the second drive channel is great, and depending on the amount you have on you can play a wide range of genres. The quality, particuarly for the price, is impressive, however I was dissapointed in the nearly non-existant reverb function. The volume on this AMP is very impressive, it keeps the sound you need at volumes that seem to exceed just 100 watts, I can play gigs easily with this amp up to mid sized stages and venues(For example Toads Place in New Haven, CT. The AMP sounds good on it's own and can easily produce sounds that match with other amplifiers. I've yet to attempt any output to record with this amplifier, but I'm sure that it would be fine as it does have the proper output jacks. FOR THE RECORD: I use an acoustic Electric Fender guitar and an Electric Epiphone and both sound suprisingly nice. As for feedback, there is an issue with this, there is quite a bit of it but this problem can be solved by playing with the amplifier ABOVE you.
Features
For the type of amp that it is the features were just fine. It came with the necesary cords and a two button footswitch for the channels, I'd just reccomend getting a long 1/4" cable for the footswitch.
Ease of Use
The amp has a bit of a learning curve to it, but is very manageable once you've gotten a handle over the drive channels.
Quality
The AMP is a tank, I've already dropped it three times, sat on it (I weight 250 lbs for what its worth) stood on it and even accidentally kicked it over in a show and it works just fine. Due to that I would say this is a very roadworthy amp.
Value
I would without a doubt be willing to pay up to 200 dollars more for this amplifier.
Manufacturer Support
I havn't had to deal with the support, but the AMP comes with a very fair 5 year warranty.
The Wow Factor
It's big and bulky. ;-) Perfect for you "more to love types" Well, okay, it's really just a big black rectangle, but whatever floats your boat is fine by me friend.

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
I also have a Fender Princeton Chorus, and this amp to me is just as great as their guitars! This amp is for people who want to plug in and jam!
Sound
For a solid-state amp, this thing has a fairly warm sound. I have two minor complaints about it: I play thrash-style, and like my mids kind of low- lower than this will go. Also, the louder this amp plays, it does tend to sound muddy. However, this is the first combo amp I've used that had plenty of gain, that's almost worth the price! I found it easy to tweak a sound I liked.
Features
I've seen amps like this. Nothing new to me as far as features.
Quality
To me, it's a very sturdy amp. I haven't thrown it around, or hit anyone with it, so I don't forsee anything happening to it! As far as minor gigging like a small club, I would say it's pretty good. Anything above that, it would make a great practice amp on the road. This is one amp I can't see getting rid of, even if I were to buy something else.
Value
Decent Fender tone, versatility, and balls for less money than the other guys!
Manufacturer Support
I haven't had any problems with this thing.
The Wow Factor
As soon as I tried this amp out, I knew I had to have it!

Good deal.
Sound
Great clean, Distortion is OK. This is a good amp for building effects pedals on... or just playing clean. If you want an amp with good distortion in it, look elsewhere. This has good distortion, but there's better amps for that if you look. This is a loud, clear sounding amp at a low price.

I'd say I'm going to enjoy this product for a long time. It should last at least as long until I get a couple more guitars (which won't be for a long while, methinks.) And has anybody else noticed that the little light that indicates that the Overdrive is on is really bright?
Sound
ABSLOLUTELY AWESOME on clean. It's crips, responsive, and just plain beautiful. It makes even my cheapo $100 guitar sound amazing. Overdrive is decent sounding, but More-Overdrive sounds kind of crappy. Way to much static if you turn the More-OD switch on.
Features
The foot switch could have used a third button for the mid-contour, but that's okay.
Quality
It's nice and sturdy. Everything works the way it should, no problems with quality control.
Value
Amazing value! Just try and find an amp this powerfull and this great sounding in this price range. Go on, I dare yer.
The Wow Factor
It's a box with knobs. Not what I consider "sexy," but I guess I'll try and keep an open mind.

Great amp, if not for the clean channel(which is good but not great) I would of given it a ten.
Sound
I love the drive and more drive channels they sound amazing once you get the settings right. The only thing that bugs me is the clean channel. No matter how much I mess with it it comes out twangy sounding.
Features
Standard drive and more drive channel along witha clean channel, reverb and 2-button footswitch.
Quality
for $320 it sounds like a Marshall half-stack at less than half the price. This amp is SOOO LOUD!!! 2x12 100 watt speakers, WOW is it loud, and crisp!

"A good, loud amp for the price."

Overall: 4 out of 5 stars

This probably the only amp I'll have during college, and I like it. It's good for jamming with friends, but you'll probably want to take a step up in quality/price if you are playing gigs.
Sound
It's got the Fender clean sound, which is terrific. I like the distortion, but it definately isn't metal, so if your into heavier stuff, keep looking. The "more drive" setting is noisy and hissy, but I never really need it that much. The "mid-countour is a nice feature. Keep in mind that it is loud, you'll never get above 2 if your worried about neighbors (or other people in the dorm like me).
Features
The reverb could has a lot of room for improvement, in my opinion. The footswitch is pretty slow in changing channels, so you have to practice to get it right.
Value
This is easily the best part about this amp. It was the cheapest amp when compared to others in the same category. I didn't know what I was getting into when I bought it, but I needed volume on the cheap, and was pleasently surprised.
Manufacturer Support
I have no idea, haven't needed it. Fill out the warranty to be safe.
The Wow Factor
No fancy glowing lights or anything out of the ordinary, but if looks matter to you in an amp, well then I don't know what to say.

"GREAT FENDER AMP NO WHERE NEAR FENDER PRICE"

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I am very satisfied with my 212 amp
Sound
Clean channel is great if solid state cleanliness is what you want. If tube tone is what you are after you can save youself a few hundred dollers and froms a tube amp and play through a tube simulator pedal. That also sounds great.
Features
Foot pedal is basic but gets the job done. I wish it had built in effects.
Quality
Very sturdy and very well constucted. Wish it had wheels.
Value
The best big name amp that you will find for the money no doubt.
Manufacturer Support
Fender has great customer relations and great product warrantys.

"Not the same ol Fender."

Overall: 2 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
First impressions mean a lot. Out of the box this amp looked like crap. My kids were even surprised how bad it looked. And now i find out Fender is using a smaller wattage speaker. If i could have seen into the future a week i would never have bought this. The 50 watt speakers makes me nervious and the poor covering makes me wonder about how well this amp will hold up.
Sound
This amp sounds like a Fender. Not tube Fenders, but better than most solid state amps.
Features
Just reverb and distortion. The clean channel is good. With the right pedals and guitar it's not a bad sounding amp.
Ease of Use
Just plug and play. Doesn't get much more basic than this.
Quality
Out of the box i spent 2 hours re-gluing the black covering. At almost evey place the cover was cut and joined it was peeling. The back was really bad. I'm shocked that Fender's quality control didn't catch this. No one should have to re-glue a cover on a brand new amp. Also Fender is now using 50 watt speakers in this amp. I e-mailed Fender and they said the company making the 75 watt speaker stopped production. What is Fender thinking, going to a smaller wattage speaker. Some folks were burning up the 75 watt speakers. I think Fender is going to be replacing a lot of blown speakers. I never heard the 75 watt speakers, but these 50 watt speakers don't sound very loud to me. Mabey they are less efficient than the 75 watt speakers.
Value
I quess the quality of all amps has fallen over the years. This is a very basic amp and if they would get a grip on the quality control and use a little better speaker this could be a much better value.
Manufacturer Support
Love their guitars and older amps. I have 3 fender amps. 2-tube and 1-solid state. They are between 15 and 20 years old. All 3 are going strong.
The Wow Factor
Looks like a Fender, minus the salt and pepper front cover.

I want to get a half stack now, but for just playin with ur friends and small shows, this thing serves its purpose well.
Sound
The distortion on it by itself is decent, but if you want better sound get a pedal. The clean channel sounds good as well.
Features
This amp isn't exactly meant for features. It has 2 - technically 3 - channels; the two distortion ones aren't much different. Haven't used the footswitch that came with it.
Quality
Good quality. Had it about a year. No screwups yet.
Value
Great value for the price. You can't beat it.
Manufacturer Support
No service needed
The Wow Factor
Pure lust. Sleek, black, and well it's only an amp.

Go buy it you'll never regret it
Sound
Best sound quality ever even with a cheao ass guitar through it you don't get any noise at all. This amp can get almost any sound out of it for any style with the right settings. You could and should use this amp for anything live gigs band practice or even recording in a studio.
Features
The features are it comes with a simple footswitch to switch between the 3 channels clean/drive/more drive(solo) and has an awesome sounding reverb. it doesn't have any effects besides reverb but what more could you ask for for 300?
Quality
best quallity ever, has a five year warranty hope that i never have to use it, i probably wont because its a fender seems like it will last untill i die and will still work untill the end of the world
Value
best value ever, blows all the other amps out of the water for the quality and sound.

WORST...NO AMPLIFIER COVER THIS SIDE OF THE MOON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sound
The sound is nbot that of a twin reverb. the lower frequencies are dominant no matter how it is eq's of how I adjust my Les Paul Custom. I don't seem to ba able to cut through the rest of the band's sound as well as I want to. But it is LOUD
Features
I would prefer slider eq controls, however, what is there is OK
Ease of Use
it;s easy to use and straightforward in presentation
Quality
it is a fender!!!!
Manufacturer Support
Don't even think about trying to get an amp cover for the thing. I have had one on order from fender, through a dealer, for almost five (5) months. Don;t look on the internet either, you'll find and shake hands with BIGFOOT before you find anyone who has a cover for sale. The only company I have found with slower suppoort id GUILD (wonderful accoustic guitars) but then fender owns GUILD don't they!!
The Wow Factor
Hiw can you eqyate sex appeal to a guitar amplifier? any female who could take on this amplifier would be both sick and deformed. Any guy with an appendage the size of the amplifier would find himself very lonely. IT'S A GUITAR AMPLIFIER FOR GOODNESS SAKE. WHY DO WE ALWAYS HAVE TO ASSOCIATE SEX APPEAL WITH SUCH PRODUCTS. "Fantastic amplifier."

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
This review has been selected by our experts as particularly helpful.
Presently I am fully satisfied with this amp and if I ever search for another amp then I probably go for a ALL Tube amp. I basically selected this amp because of its simple operation and Loud Clear Clean channel. If this amp is being stolen I would definitely but it again.
Sound
This amp is made in China. I recently bought it from Tom Lee Music Honk Kong. Before I bought it I read different reviews on it and now I own it and I proud that I made the right decision. This amp has got the basic features but I always believe in simplicity. It is very easy to shape your sound with fewer controls. It has a very brillant clean sounding channel which quite loud enough to make you able to perform in a moderate to large live performance. It is a real treat to play your guitar in clean channel which projects the sound so sweetly and powerfully. The drive and more drive channels are equally great and I found them very useful. The drive channel has a very clear/transparent chruncy sound with lot of attack and bite. The more drive is just sounds like a rocket and distortion is brutal enough to fulfill all your metal or hard rock needs. The more drive channel has bundle of sustain though it has some noise but this common with all the amps at very high gain settings. To combat with this noise you just simply tweak with the equalization. Of course the Mid contour mode is just a great feature and I always keep it engage at depressed position which makes the sound more beefy and higher notes more prominent. The spring reverb quality is quite useable. But I still perfer a large size spring reverb unit to be replaced with this small unit comes alongwith the amp. However it is still very satisfactory. This amp fulfill all my sounds targets whether it is a Jazz or blues or rock or hard rock it just one of the most verstatile amp as far as quality sound is concerned. This amp is a great sounding beast if you use your effect pedals with it and then you will find that how much worth this amp has got. I usually use graphic equalizer and a compressor with this amp and it sound like a air craft gun. If you do not find the drive channel according to your liking then try to use it through the effect loop and you will definitely notice a dramatic change in the quality of distortion. Though the effect loop tends to make the overall sound output power a little muddy or weak but the overall solo guitar sound becomes brillant as it starts to swell beautifully as you let the note to sustain. I myself think that the Fender Touch-senstive circuit really activates while using the effect loop. I heard that this amp produces unecessary feedback problem but I have'nt faced it yet though I have used it at very high volume but it remains quite controllable as long as you are intend to get the feedback. I like the quality of speakers a lot, as these speakers has very large cones which gives this amp a very powerful punch. This amp has got a very comfortable headroom to withstand the most severe loud crashing sounds required for hard rock. I also do not agree with people who say that it does not have the guts to handle the heavy metal sounds, but I can say with confident that this amp is capable of facing all the various musical kinds with ease. But you have to bear this thing in your mind that even the best amp in the world cannot produce good sound if you don't have a good quality guitar or atleast pickups. I myself mostly use Seymour duncan/Dimarizo and Yamaha original alnico pickups and I am very comfortable with this amp. The tone controls are very effective and immensely helps you to shape your sound to the extreme. I wish it would have a Presence control however it still sound very crisp and bright and never ever so deeply crave for this specfic feature. I like the storage areas provided behind this amp for foot switch/connecting cable and power cable. I like the front power supply indication light as it is very bright and secondly it fades away in very cool manner as you switches off the amp. I did not like the monogram or labels of the speakers which looks more like ordinary ones, I think fender should replace them with some more sober looking labels which gives this amp a more professional look. I mostly uses a Boss DD3,Boss Equalizer,Distortion,Chorus esemble and compressor and this amp sound superb indeed. This amp has somewhat electrical hiss but I think you can manage it by using a high grade guitar cable/proper sheilding of your guitar and finally proper grounding of your amp at the main power source. Being a solid state amp I give it 9 points.
Features
It has a very high quality foot switch and connecting cable. The most useful feature of this amp is the Mid Contour switch at the drive channels. The least useful feature I still not able to find in it. I think this amp is almost perfect if you compare with its price and sound quality it delivers. I think Fender China has utilized the best components on this amp and I found it very durable. One thing which surprise me is the non-extistence of heat sink plate at the back side of amp for cooling down of power transistors and it is important when the amp would be use in hot season.
Ease of Use
This is one of the most easiest and simplest amp as far as operation is concerned. Yes the manual provided with this amp is quite clear and of course it has also comes with a 5 years warnaty.
Quality
This is a very well made amp. I found its factory quality control very impressive. The finish of this amp is excellent. This is a very reliable amp and I have no hesitation to depend on it. Not I am least worry about that something happens to this amp but one slight worry is there in my mind and that it due to non-existance of Heat Sink plate for cooling of Power transistors. I won't use any backup for this amp as I have full faith on Fender worthy name. Oh yes certainly this amp is tough enough for road use. The worst aspect of quality is the ordinary type of label pasted on the speakers magnets. I think everything needs care and if you love your equipment and maintain it regularly then this amp would last for whole of your life. You see I have two Yamaha amplifiers JX50 (26 years old) & G50 112III (21 years old) both are working just fine as I care for them. So give your love to your valuable equipment and it won't let you down.
Value
Oh yes this product is worth its typical selling price as compared to other brands with little historical background and experience.
Manufacturer Support
Fender people are helpful. I live in Pakistan and here we do not have any dealer so I surveyed a lot around my region and finally I got the deal finalized at Tom Lee Music Honk Kong. I found Tom Lee Music people very helpful and informative. Their sales and marketing departments extended their full cooperation to me and showed that they are the true campanion of Fender team.
The Wow Factor
This is the one of the most sexy amp in the whole bunch. The black color vinyl covering and chrome hardware is just a dazzling experience for me and my friends.

"Simple but superb sounding amp."

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I am quite satisfied with this amp. I bought it just because of its high power with two speakers at a reasonable price and more importantly due to Fender name plate on it. I like the most about it is the large size speakers cones and I least liked the ordinary speakers magnets labels as they look more like home-made ones.
Sound
It is a great sounding amp. The clean channel is loud and clear with plenty of punch. The overdrive channels are equally great and I found them very useable in all respects. I have tested it on both humbuckers and single coil pickups and it is just excellent. Of course you can further enhance its sound by using an equalizer & compressor.
Features
This amp has the basic features but very effective indeed. I found its Mid contour switch very useful as it provides extra punch and beefy tone to your guitar sound. I wish it may have a Presence control and a large size spring reverb unit.
Ease of Use
It is probably the easiest amp as far as its operation is concerned. I found it very easy to shape any kind of sound with high quality output. I always believe in simplicity and it reflects my thoughts and sound targets.
Quality
I found this amp almost perfect and the quality of components used in it are certainly of very high quality. I have not yet found any flaw in it.
Value
Is a quite reasonable priced amp.
Manufacturer Support
Fender people are quite helpful.
The Wow Factor
This is a very smart and attractive amp as far as its overall appearence is concerned.

"Simplicity with smashing sound quality."

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I think I shall remain satisfied with this amp for long long time to come. I choose this amp due to it loud clean sound and very versatile overdrive sound as well and furthermore due its simple operation pannel. If this amp is lost or stolen I would probably buy the same one again if my budget falls around this price range otherwise I would like to try something new.
Sound
The sound quality of this amp is great. It works equally very good both on clean and overdirve channels. I found its sound responds to my playing very well. The newly designed loud speakers with large cones does makes a difference in it overall sound quality. You can very easily shape any sort of sound from it. I have really achieved the sound I was looking for and I am quite satisfied with this amp. I used it with my effect pedals and it just sound superb. I suggest you to use a graphic equalizer and compressor for getting 100% out of it.
Features
This amp comes with a high quality foot switch and conecting cable. This amp has very basic features. The most useful feature is the Mid contour switch which makes the sound beefy, powerful and bright for all kind of overdrive stuff. I wish it might have Presence control however it still have very bright and crispy sound and furthermore I might also wish that it has a large spring reverb unit. The overall selection of components for this amp is almost perfect.
Ease of Use
Its so simple and easy to shape any kind of sound from this amp from crystal transparent clean to soft overdrive to extreme overdrive sounds with bundles of sustain. It simply makes the sound of effect pedals so great. This manual is clear but it would be extra advantage if it has mentioned some basic settings especially useful for beginners to intermediate players.
Quality
This amp is very well made. The factory quality standard is excellent. I have not noticed any cosmetic or loose parts so far. This is a dependable amp and I have no hesitation whatsoever to use it for the road. I rather did not like the ordinary speakers magnets labels which gives an impression more like a home made ones. As far as its durability is concerned it is build like a rock.
Value
Yes of course this amp is worth its selling price.
Manufacturer Support
Fender people are very helpful.
The Wow Factor
This is a very smart and sober amp and looks pretty attractive on the stage.

Amazing. Fender is kick ass. Great sound
Sound
This amp sounds amazing even at high volumes. You don't lose any of your overdrive. Footswitch is great and smooth. More Drive channel sounds the best out of any emp I have ever played.
Features
For me this amp has everything I need. I could see how for some players the features could be a bit limited but for me it's perfect.
Ease of Use
Extremely easy to get the sound you want. Just find a good sound and stick with it. I reccomend writing your settings down if you are going to be giging, so if they get bumped around you wont forget.
Quality
Amazing quality amp. I have used mine for about 3 years straight now and have only had to take it in for repair once. I also have the amp on about 4.5 when me and guys are practicing and we practice about 3 times a week for 2 hours straight. I slam on the foot switch almost every song and it has never broken. AMAZING QUALITY
Value
Great. Worth every cent.

Support was good other then that they did not tell me what ever was wrong with the amp when it broke.

"Outstanding bang for the buck."

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
I plan to hang on to this one for awhile simply because it does the job that I need it to do. I also still have a Peavey Studio. I will likely buy more guitars than buy any more amps, for awhile.
Sound
I play a Gibson ES 135, a Ric 360-12 and a Martin DCME. This amp brings out the most of best quality sounds that each of these guitars is capable of producing. It also allows me to achieve certain enhanced values with each guitar, through use of its ranges and contour functions. Plus, it is one loud puppy.....good stage amp.
Features
Best features are the variation of the natural sounds of each instrument. I wish it had a built in tremolo, but my "Vibro Thang" box provides the tremolo effects when I need them. One downside is the reverb. It needs a much stronger reverb function. It would also be a good thing if it came with a cover.
Ease of Use
Great sounds just flow out. Not much effort needed to get those sounds, just need to experiment and not be afraid to turn the dials on both the amp or the guitars and use the drive switches on the amp. Owner's manual is ultra simple.
Quality
Very well made. Heavy duty built. Good fit and no blemishes. I expect it to stand up to "road use", but the vinyl covering seems a little thin and maybe prone to getting scuffed up and/or torn. Reliability seems "so far so good." I don't play with everything tuned up to 10 so given the warranty, I'm not worried whether it breaks or not, but I really don't think that it will.
Value
The MSRP seemed resonable, but compared to other comparable Fender amps even the MSRP seemed cheap for a brand that you would not necessarily expect to deliver this kind of quality performance.
Manufacturer Support
It's my first Fender. I have always used Peavey, but was never fully satisfied with any Peavey amp I've ever owned. Always wanted a Fender, but didn't want to pay the price. This amp got me into a Fender at a price point that seems almost ridiculously low, but sounds every bit like every Fender I've ever borrowed or played through.
The Wow Factor
If you like or want a Fender amp, this one is very sexy and will get the job done in virtually any musical style. In the real world, tubes vs. solid state means nothing to me as I have had them all. Its all about what is coming out of the speakers and at the zzounds price, you cannot lose.

"You cant go wrong!!!!!!!1"

Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
I will always be satisfied with this amp, it was my first big amp and i think i will have it till i give it to my kids. You cant go wrong with a fender amp, especially this particular one, if you are thinking of buying a different amp i would reconsider, This amp is a lot of amp for your money!
Sound
THe sound on this amp is spectacular. It is a deep rich sound, were you cant go wrong. it is extremly loud. The farthest up i've ever gotten it was 5. A picture fell of my wall and broke. The amp has to be kept about 6in away from a wall or farther, because it will over heat.
Features
The amp has many controls for sound that if you know how to use them it can sound great. My only complaint is the distortion is not that powerful. You can fix that with a $50 pedal, just so it has a little more kick behind it, but if you arent in need of AC-DC distortion it is great.
Quality
I have not had a single problem with the amp. THe only thing i am concerned about is the well-being of my ears. The amp is extremmly loud. Evey thing is perfect with the quality of this amp. i don't plan on having to fix anything any time soon.
Value
I would not expect to pay so little for this amp. All of the other amps were super expensive, and then i saw this one and it was pretty cheap, i was a little concerned as to why it was so cheap but i guess it was just a good deal because ive had it for a little more than a year and it still works just as good as it did on day 1
Manufacturer Support
I havent had a problem yet. if i have a problem i have a feeling fender would handle it well. ive worked with them before and they were a big help. if it wasn't for them i would still be working on my Stratocaster.
The Wow Factor
THis amp is pretty big. If you have this amp and you go to play guitar somewher. people wont think that your just joking around. This amp looks like it packs a pretty hard punch and you know what it does.

I've still to wear this out, until it needs supplementing with another one. If I need additional sound features I would have to purchase pedals and trinkets and thingamagingas. Then ... I wouldn't be making real music... or would I?
Sound
This Amp has the sound of a Fender solid state amp. It's not going to play like a tube amp. A proffesional once told me that solid state was the best to ever come out. The only reason people buy tube is because they have a distinct sound "distorted" when the tubes are going bad. Which is often. This amp responds well to different guitars. I play a tele Nashville with hot p/u. "texmex" , a Jazz box " robelli" with High output P/u. and a telecoustic with it's integrated p/u system and built in EQ, and I can always dial in any tune from a warm Jazzy, to Muddy blues, clean twang, or a twangy and deep country. The distortion plays well for a solid state amp. Remember this """ It's built to the specs of way back when. When solid state was the buzz. So it's going to sound like a solid state amp. Not a Tube. There is no comparison. It sounds crisp and clear and has a great "no to sensitive reverb"
Features
This Amp is simple. KISS "Keep it simple stupid" It doesn't have multiple bells and wistles and digital readout crap. It features a very functional tre, mid, bass eq buttons working in conjunction with the volume for each channel "two" which can be tailored to your sound according to what you have plugged in. It doesn't need any more unecessary clutering features. That is why I purchased it. It has a simple functional foot switching pedal and three small channel selector bottons on the face, The use of thin plastic makes this and affordable amp. I mostly play clean with lots of reverb. Once in a while I dail in a fuzz through the distortion. Not too much. Otherwise I use a pastrami pedal and a vox whah.
Quality
The amp is well built. There are some blemishes here and there in the inside where quality control may have overlooked, but it is inside. The overall look is great. Nothing spectacular, shiny or bleeping blinky, just functonality. Solid state? Take a look at the flea markets with the "solid state" table radios from the sixties. The cabinet will get eaten by termites in a lifetime before the solid state desintegrates... will be around for other generations.
Value
The way it was back when! More for my money! When a coke was a coke, a hoe whas a hoe, and cracks what you where doing, when you where craking jokes. when a screw was a screw, the wind was all that blew and when you said im down with that, it meant you had the flu. "qouting that country song"
Manufacturer Support
I have had this Amp for two years and have had "ZERO, NADA, ZILCH, No problems at all. It's all smooth and gravy. Never had to contact Fender. So I guess I have a good one out of the assy line.
The Wow Factor
It's an intrument, It doesn't feel, breathe or live. It's a man made device created for the sole purpose of enhancing vibes from this thing we call a guitar. It's in essence an addition to my arsenal of tools.

"$300? Go get it!"

I think I'm going to get a hell of a lot of use out of this.
Sound
Nice Clean sound. I play a Strat and it has that GREAT Strat tone. Really F*&%ing loud. Distortion channel sounds pretty damn good as long as you are not a metal head. I also use a Digitech Tone Driver pedal which sounds great through this.
Features
I rate this high on features, cause I'm not comparing to other amps that have a whole bunch of digital effects built in. I wanted a nice loud clean bare bones amp, and that's what I got!
Quality
Haven't gigged with it yet (I just got it, today) But the whole thing looks and sounds like it just came off the line at the factory.
Value
$300 got me a lot of amp!
Manufacturer Support
Haven't needed it, but I'd like to give them the benefit of the doubt...
The Wow Factor
I personally prefer the black grill cloth. The whole thing is BLACK. I like it

Sound
The sound quality is great but the only thing thats bad about it is when you really want to rock out it starts to buzz a little bit, but that is the only flaw.
Features
Great sound and has the best overall EQ and effects I've ever seen on an amp i love this amp.
