I've wanted an American Jazz Bass for a long time. In particular I was looking for a 2012 Candy Cola bass with a rosewood fingerboard, and these guys had it! The bass shipped out the day I bought it, and it arrived a day ahead of schedule. I'm really pleased with ZZsounds shipping. As for the bass, it's incredible! The finishes on both the body and the neck are very nice. The satin on the back of the neck is smooth and glassy. The fingerboard feels great, and the factory set up was pretty great too. The Jazz Bass has two custom shop pickups, (2012 feature for all American Fenders) and they have massive sound, It's very round and full, not tinny or nasally at all. I'm going to change the strings however, because the stock strings just aren't my cup of tea. Try them first, see if you like them. As for me, I can't wait to slap some D'addarios on and play for days. Great bass.

The Fender American Jazz bass is the bass in which I judge all other basses. It's my home bass, my go to bass my first bass. Its where I start. You just can't go wrong here.

Out of the wrapper it didn't take too much setup to get beautiful tones out of this bad boy. If you like a brighter bass tone with a bit more presence than a P-Bass, I can't recommend this product more. Much easier to intonate than its cheaper Mexican counterparts. Haven't had to deal with the manufacturer yet so I cant comment on the customer support.

Great bass guitar for a variety of sounds/tones. Bought a "blemished" unit, butcould only find a tiny discoloration on back of neck- saved a lot of money.Satin finish on back of neck makes this a pleasure to play. Reasonably light weight. zZounds is an excellent company.

It is a fender what should I say, if not for zZounds and the treatment that I have acquired I am not at all sure this purchase would have been possible. The experience with zZounds is better then any human being should deserve. I would do this arrangement again any time. My parting words are meant for the people at zZounds: thank you!

So when this American jazz bass arrived at my door I was very excited until I opened the case and noticed parts of the pickups covered in wax. Finally after taking the strings off and cleaning all the wax off I noticed the neck pickup cover was warped by the G string poles. I contacted ZZounds and they offered to exchange the bass no problems. I called Fender and all they offered was to take it to a authorized repair center. No apology what so ever. I decided to keep it rather than sending it back. Don't get me wrong other than the issue with the pickups its great. Nice bridge, tuner machines, neck, and it sounds great. However, come on Fender this is a $1400 AMERICAN bass! where's the quality control? Should I have to clean wax off of the pickups?
