WOW!!! Just got it in on Thursday. I have had only a couple hours with it, but WOW is an awesome start. Will take it in to have it professionally set up to tune in E. Mine is set up for E flat from the factory. The "Dirty Texas Blues" sound that it is putting out is awesome.

Sweet vanilla Strat... Nuff said...
Sound
Best pickup configuration ever! So many variables are possible with these Tex Mex pups. Very versatile.
Features
Satin finish on the neck feels great! I personally do not like the heavy lacquer feel on guitar necks. Love this smooth finish.
Ease of Use
Must have it professionally set up. The frets were rough. Otherwise, great quality from a MIM Strat.
Quality
Again, it is a must to have these professionally set up.
Value
You will be hard pressed to get a better Strat at this cost. I'd put mine up against any American made out there.
Manufacturer Support
Fender is second to none.
The Wow Factor
This is a sexy beast...

"FANTASTIC GUITAR IN PRICE RANGE"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I have a Fender American Delux Strat and Tele, each more than double in price than the Jimmy Vaughn. While the American Deluxe are supper guitars, their pickups don't match the Vaughn model when it comes to dirty/overdrive. It is also well made, with a neck that plays with ease and speed. In addition to my Fenders I have 2 Gibson Les Pauls, a pre China Epiphone LP, an Ibanez S770PB, and a Custom PRS McCarty with a $3550.00 value. Nevertheless, none of my other guitars can replace the sound of this Jimmy Vaugn guitar. Since I hated the color, I created my own paint job that came out great. The guitar does have some feed back issues, but nothing that can't be overcome.

Musical Background:

I've been playing 45 years doing both studio and gig playing. I now have my own studio, and lay guitar, bass, keyboard, and drum

Musical Style:

Just about any style needed, but love classic rock and songs of the 60s & 70s. Groups that influnced my music: Deep Purple, Led

Just received my new Jimmy Vaughn Stratocaster. The Soft V neck is great, fits my big hand like a glove. Big necks make big tone. When I put some 10's on her, she will only sound better. I would say that this Guitar sounds better then the new American Standard with the custom Shop 50 pickups. I played both for comparison. Pickups very in guitars however set up your amp to match the sound and your in there. So if your thinking about a new purchase save yourself about $300 off the price of the American Standard and purchase this guitar. It has a vintage American Bridge and electronics and Great Tone that will only improve with age and play, and lets not forget the Soft V neck.

These days Jam at home, but I did learn my roots playing out.
