I did a lot of research before deciding on this guitar. Right off the bat you notice how all the knobs and switches are solid and not cheap. The Yosemite pickups were all that I hoped they would be. This is a great value for an American made Strat. Great job Fender.

I’m impressed with fender on their new Performer series. I have owned both Prs guitars and Les pauls but this strat definitely takes the cake in terms of quality and versatility for the price. The Yosemite pickups sound BEAUTIFUL. They offer crystal clear tones for you blues/jazz players and nice sustainability as well. The push/pull knob feature really blew me away with the tone. I really didn’t think it would make much of a difference but I was surprised it provides such variety in sound. My only complaint about this guitar is the paint job. I ordered the Arctic white and noticed some very tiny pores in the finish which aren’t noticeable unless you’re like me and inspect your new instruments like a hawk. Besides that it’s a total winner.

Awesome tones, feels and plays great, no QC issues, and it looks sexy. The floating trem set up out of the box was surprisingly good, 4.5 out of 5. I prefer a decked trem, decked it, put 10s on, conditioned the rosewood board, and ran the file through two nut slots. No biggie. Now the guitar plays like a dream and has wonderful tuning stability.5 out of 5 stars. I highly recommend this MIA strat.

OK, this is an update of my previous review. I have had time to do a proper setup, and take a little out of the nut, shim the neck a tad. I was able to set the action to the same as my SG which is .010 at the first fret and .0469 at the 12th. Out of the box set was ok and most people would love it. Now I have adjusted it to my liking I can say this is the nicest playing strat I have ever played. You absolutely will not regret buying this guitar.

Let me start by saying, until today, I have always played Gibson Les Pauls and SG's. With that being said, I wanted a USA made strat to add to my collection and this one was affordable. As usual, it arrived 2 days after I ordered it. I bought it in a Honey Burst finish which was flawless.I still need to do a set up on it. The action is a bit high and I can see the nut needs a little taken out and the Neck needs to be shimmed or the saddle screws will dig into your hand. That is not an issue though and I will take care of that this evening. Even with the factory setup, it plays beautiful. It has a the classic Strat tone. I really did not have a lot of time to play with it. Overall, I am thrilled with this guitar. The only real draw back, is the fender gig bag, but I imagine that helps keep the price down. I will pick up an HD case next week.

"Really let down"

I was expecting this to be up to “standard” with how an American guitar should play and sound. I was really let down. Action was very high, after trying to set it up, I had no luck and had issues fretting out even with high action. Fret ends were not well dressed. I thought it sounded well and the electronics worked good, but that’s probably the highlight of my experience. Definitely sending this back. Thanks for Zzounds for taking care of me and making it right.
