"Great Jazz Bass with a Fast Neck"

I bought this bass because of the slim C profile neck. I suspected it was like the Geddy Lee neck, and it is. I've been gigging with the Geddy Lee for 5 years now and it IS what I like. Now,the American Special with the Rosewood fingerboard gives me a slight alternative. Totally worth the asking price. I played it stock for 2 gigs and realized it was just missing some enhancements that I put on all my basses. The next week I added a hip shot drop-D Tuner, and a Full Contact Hardware Babicz bridge. I really like the bridge. It is right up there with the Bad Ass bridge i'm used to, but more readily available. The extra mass does make a noticeable difference. The bass came with a newer model gig bag that actually fits without de-tuning the bass. Not a blemish on the body or neck anywhere. Real fine craftsmanship.
Sound
The pickups are similar in sound to the Geddy Lee. Very punchy.
Features
The neck is just superb, second only to the Jazz Select with the compound radius. IF ya like a thinner neck.
Ease of Use
Playable out of the box!
Quality
No burrs or rough edges. Nice deep sunburst.
Value
Totally worth the street price.

The Wow Factor
The WoW factor would be 5 stars if it came with a high mass bridge. I'm all about tradition and vintage loyalty, but the old school fender bridge just doesn't cut it for me.

Musical Background:

I've played the bass professionally for the last 6 years full time, and periodically before that since 1983.

Musical Style:

"both kinds, Country And Western", haha rock, roll, pop, oldies, funk, blues - yep, I'm in a cover band.

I was sceptic about ordering. I thought it was to good to be true and that the product would be of low quality or something but I live the bass is gorgeous and the feel is incredible. The sounds is all I need to satisfy my life end addiction. Came with some abnormalities tho.. No biggies tho action was high and one of the pups was adjusted incorrectly but a setup later and this fender is a dream come true. I wish it had block inlays but cosmetics are the least to worry about.
