Perfect bass for anyone in a serious band wanting a great looking and sounding guitar. And seems to be sturdy enough to last on the road. I hope to test that theory out soon.
Sound
The sound is awesome. Thats all i can say. Just a great sounding guitar. I recently purchased an american highway one P-Bass which was far inferior in my opinion in sound quality. Just a simple guitar with great tones for every range. Smooth body and neck with perfect action and No hum on any of the notes. All in all id say its the best bass ive ever played. And that includes a kubicki factor from the fender custom shop which is almost 3x the price of this beauty.
Ease of Use
So simple a blind man could find a great tone with one hand.
Quality
I dont know about the long term quality but this thing is sturdy and great sounding. I dont see that changing inless the owner neglects the bass.
Value
Amazing tone and quality for the price. Played guitars that cost 3x as much and had far less quality interms of sound and neck playability.
Manufacturer Support
Amazing customer support, amazing financing plans. All in all the best music website there is. N2m the great deals they have over the phone and deals they send in emails.

I don't play bass, this one was purchased for my 42 year old son who has played bass since he was 7... would rate him as one of the finest musicians anywhere...He is very pleased with this purchase, told me it was probably the best bass he has ever owned, and he has gone through quite a few of them.

I was fed up with cheap basses. They just don't add up to what I wanted from a bass. I always believed that it's the bass player and not the bass. Well, 10 basses and not getting nowhere. I finally decided to invest in a high end bass...$999.99 is high end for me. The minute I got this bass from Zzound, it just felt so right in my hands. Honest to God this bass is GOOD!!! If you're reluctant to put up $999.99 on this bass...it is so worth it. You will stop complaining. I changed the strings to GHS Boomers and adjusted the action. I'm so happy I don't have to worry about the sound/tone/feel...it's a perfect bass for any style. Get this bass!!!

I've been playing bass professionally for 6yrs.

Rock, funk, new wave...pretty much every style. I play in a band that caters to parties.

I have owned three Fender's now-my old reliable '59 Precision, an '81 Jazz and now my new '14 Special. They all have their own unique personalities-and personality is what I look for in a bass. This new Special has a great personality. It plays as close to my '59 as any bass I've ever played and has tons of great tone. The build quality was first-class all the way and everyone who sees it is impressed by it's good looks. I highly recommend these guitars.

Musical Background:

I have been playing professionally since 1978. This is my 5th bass.

Musical Style:

I play primarily classic-rock (T-40) and country, though I spent many years playing original music in Los Angeles and South Texa

I have played an original 1959 Precision for almost 40 yearend was looking for a modern version to use as my main guitar- the '59 is just too valuable to tote around anymore. I had looked at several alternatives including some MIM and Squires but finally settled on this beautiful American Special. It has great playability, sound and value. I like the tone circuit too, a bit different that what I am used too, but it works well. If you'd like an American P bass, this is a great way to go.

Musical Background:

I have been playing professionally since the late '70's. My primary instrument is bass, but I do have fun playing the drums some

Musical Style:

rock, blues, country
