I bought this with the intention of doing my own relic job, once i opened the case and saw that surf green piece of eye candy , i choked.
Looks like ill have to buy a surf green mexican 50's model to relic.
It looks and plays perfect, the 57/62 pups stir the retro juices. The neck is like a babies behind ! Flawless paint and workmanship.
My kids are already fighting over who gets it when i croak!
This guitar will only improve with age!
Forget phase switches, active electronics, coil splitters, blah blah blah, this guitar is the real deal and stands on its own. Simplicity is bliss!

If it's gotta be good... it's gotta be a Fender.
Value
It's the best buy for your buck- not over priced too much compared to its competition. A good buy, even better if you get one used for around $700 to 900... a more accurate price, unless you have to be the original owner of everything.

This guitar is absolutely a great one to own. I have owned strat's in the late 50's and early 60's and this one is absolutely the exact same one. No difference in sound, feel or fit and finish. Sounds range from jazzy and full to bright and snappy and anything in between. If you have only enough cash to buy one guitar, you certainly should consider this one and I don't think you'll be sorry. It should also hold it's value better than most. Try one and you probably will buy it. I bought it even without trying it and it's great. The surf green is very different and a beautiful color change from the usual white and sunburst.

Like wow man! Like this is the ax! Forget all you ever THOUGHT you knew about tone! I mean this is THE ax! Its very construction brings it into a realm all it's own! I don't own one yet, but I played one at my buddy's place, and I got to have me one of these real quick. Something magic about it. Something too complex to describe. This is not just a guitar. It's ALIVE! I'm gonna be ordering it just as soon as I'm finished telling you people how great I think this ax is, though I'm having trouble actually puting my finger on any particular reason that I like-no, LOVE-it so much! there are just too many!. Maybe I should get me two, or three. . . is there a legal limit to how many I can have? Whew! Maybe a shrink I could use. Oh, and the case. Don't you forget about the case. Tweed. And the strap. Real leather. And the chrome bridge cover. Real chrome. . . and. . . So as soon as I'm done here, I'm going to get me one and NEVER sell it! NEVER!

Quality
Fender Stratocasters are famous for their dependability. Tough as nails. But prettier than nails. As you may be aware, some nails are downright visually unpleasant.

This guitar is fantastic! Worth every expensive penny. Of course, when compared to other makers prices on their American products, it is especially valuable.

Fender is famous for not-so-good online support. Imagine a company as vast as Fender has become, and imagine trying to cope with all the stuff they get! That's why they have dealers. To DEAL with all the stuff! See? I have dealt with said dealer, and have come away satisfied.
The Wow Factor
This guitar is just plain beautiful! Simple beauty is not lost here. I like a guitar that does not weigh me down with tons of HARDWARE. This 57 Strat is so light and easy to cope with. Minimal knobs, buttons, switches, and no lights flashing, no 75-page manuals. Its appeal is there.

Sound
This guitar has an amazing tone. Why get a stratocaster these days that can only do one thing. Get this one and it will do anything. That's what's great about this guitar and its amazing single coils. These pickups are basically Fender's originals, the classics, but have been lost in history. These are just pickups, not specialized magnetics that do crazy things, they are so simple. Not HotRodded or anything, just pickups. You just can't beat the original.

Features are simple, just like I like 'em. The pickup blade is cool too because not only is it a vintage three-way but you can balance the blade between selections to use it like a five-way.
Ease of Use
Easy, like I said before, just plain and simple.
Quality
Holy Crap, this guitar is super quality. You can buy a 50's classic stratocaster from Mexico that may sound basically the same but if you are like me and you want something from home, then this stratocaster is it.
Value
A little high for a simple bolt together guitar and it isn't even Custom Shop, though it mind as well be, but worth every penny.

5 way switch should be installed at the factory. Yeah, I know, they didn't have 5 ways' back in 1957.... but it's included in the goodie bag, so why not install it at the factory and leave the 3 way switch in the goodie bag....?

"BEST STRAT OUT THERE, PERIOD."
If you're looking for a good sounding strat, this is it. Forget the american standards, hot rods........ I've had 5 strats and i've tried a lot more over the years. This guitar is the best sounding strat i've played. A real find. Buy one today.

Actually quiet FANTASTIC. INCREDIBLE. Best Stratocaster sound out there, period.
Fat, creamy, agressive, smooth, sweet, natural, REAL. You'll love it.

They are great. Love the leather strap. Nice case too.
Ease of Use
If you can play guitar you'll find it preaty easy to use. Plug it into your best valve amp and the sound is right there. No need to mess around.

Looks great to me. Top quality Fender stuff.

"Great Guitar but Fender's Support Sucks"
I would have to give this guitar a 10. Support doesn't count because it isn't about the guitar.
Sound
Heard it was amazing, probably shouln't say it before hearing it but hey, it's what i heard. you could just dismiss this part of my review because i can't be totaly sure.
Features
I really like what fender has to offer with this. What they include is kind of standard to what they usually offer but the tweed case is awesome and having the extra pickup selector is a nice option. I also heard that the nitrocellulose neck is very fast and smooth.
Ease of Use
I hear that this guitar is one of the greatest guitars ever made. Great tone. One old guy told me it was an amazing guitar and old guys know everything.
Quality
I heard it was very well built.
Value
From what I know, the price is worth the wait and when you get it.

Fender sucks at helping people. I had one guy help me out about what the difference was between a c, u and v neck were and he sounded like he was half stoned. He did eventually explain what the differences were after many long awkward silences.

Yes, this guitar is cool. It isn't a macho guitar, it's very cool. Just look at one painted black with that orange neck and you'll know what I mean.

"Like driving a sports car."
The only reason that would make me purchase another stat would be for the additon of "Texas Special" pick pus. Other than that, I'm very satisfied with my Fender 57 Strat.
