Great playing guitar, wasn't a surprise really but it was a nice surprise if that makes sense. Guitar came out of box in tune almost, tuned to concert E, I gave it a quick fine tune, plugged it up, floored the amp out in the warehouse and man all I could think was I can hear detail things you can't hear with most guitars. It really plays smooth, the wood on the neck is so right on the money. Sustain all day long, selector set up you really get a versatile guitar and the tone control is very distinct and wide ranging. The guitar stayed in tune and I gave it a good thrashing for an hour. No buyers remorse here!

I looked at a lot of Ibanez, Esp, PRS & Kramer guitars before looking at the EVH Wolfgang Standard. I have to say this, is a horse of a different color. The natural finish is deep & simply beautiful; the craftsmanship, flawless. The feel-is like silk in your hands. And when it comes to tone, make no mistake there's plenty to go around and sustain to boot! And the price is great for a guitar of this quality, a real treasure!

"Great Guitar Out of the Box"

Even the 'minor blemished' guitar I bought was perfectly setup straight out of the box. It's a beautiful guitar with a great sound, excellent playability, and stays in tune well. Would like to have had a gig bag with it but for the price, that's an easy add-on. The volume knob oddly turns all the way around but that's probably the "minor blemish" so I can't complain. 5-star guitar at a great price.

The first EVH I ordered must’ve come out of the factory with no QC inspection. The nut for the input jack was loose in the box and the trem could no be adjusted to save my life. Once plugged in, the tone pot and input jack were very scratchy. Of course zZounds made it right by accepting a return and I ordered another of the same model. This new guitar came in perfect condition! All I did was lower the action to my personal preference and tuned it up. The pickups are hot as hell, but with the three way switch and excellent volume and tone pots, you can get a nice clean sound as well as balls to the wall distortion. The craftsmanship on this guitar is amazing; no defects whatsoever. The neck is fast and playability is superb. I have had Wolfgang Standards in the past and wasn’t impressed, but this WG is worth every penny. I’ve also had a new Kramer Striker and Kramer Baretta Special from zZounds, and while they were pretty damn good, it’s better to pay the extra money to get a WG. Highly recommend this guitar!
