I will keep this part short. Very excellent guitar for the money. I bought a "blemished" version and what I found was of no concern to my playing a minor inlay scratch. Hardly changes the Mahogahny body with its flame maple top. It has split humbuckers for a single coil sound which in my opinion is what sold me on this guitar. It also uses passive humbuckers which for lefties wanting an eclipse model without emgs is highly advantageous. See overall details below.
Sound
This guitar has a wide variety of sounds. So far it covers every possible tone I could want. You can split the bridge, and neck pickups to get a strat like sound so If your a fan of the traditional les paul shape, and your on a budget this guitar has you covered. The pick ups have a suprisingly full sound, and sound very mid range, which is great because I can scoop my mids in recording while maintaining a clear, and present sound. This is most likely going to be a very good buy if you need a studio guitar.
Features
The most useful feature as mentioned above is the split feature. It is so versatile in terms of sound you almost get carried away choosing your sweetspot. The frets I believe are xl however even for a 5'5 guy myself I feel that the fretboard is a bit small in feel, although the extra scarf cut really makes the entire scale greatly accesible. The only feature it is missing is a Tonepro tom and tailpiece. As of stock conditions the bridge pieces do no lock into the body. I plan to upgrade to this style bridge. Take note that it may not be necessary because when stringing this guitar you want to leave the old ones on adding one string at a time according to the owners manual. I believe it keeps the fretboard from bowing as the neck is set and beveled.
Ease of Use
This is a great intermediate to advance guitar. In the hands of a beginner it may be a bit hard to learn how to string it, adjust the truss rod, intonation adjustments, but perfect if that is what they want to learn on top of having a guitar that can play whatever is thrown at it. For the advance guitarists out there it is basically asking for mods. I plan on using bareknuckle coldsweats myself and a tonepro locking bridge for best intonation. I feel like begginers getting this guitar should be prepared to learn a lot about les paul shaped guitars and there quirks.
Quality
It is very well made. The only problem it had out of the box was a broken string. One inlay is slightly deformed, but it is only noticeable under intense scrutiny. The neck is nice and thin with a pretty nice jatoba fretboard. It almost has a cherrywood look to it or a flamed appearance complimenting the flame maple top. No bend or bowing of the neck, and despite not having a locked down tom and tailpiece stays intonated very well even during intense bending.
Value
It is highly worth it. I would take this guitar over the epiphone models any day. The main reason being they are almost the same, but the ltd eclipse wins here due to craftsmanship, and the awesome split coil humbuckers. It is just more versatile.
Manufacturer Support
Have not dealt with them yet. There hours of service are only from 8-5 PST between november and april you should call an hour earlier due to daylight savings tjat is if your eastcoast, midwest, or central.
The Wow Factor
I would say this is a solid 9/10 for me. This will be my studio guitar until I die. I will most likley play it live as well, but I feel this guitar can be a recording artists friend forever. I dont plan on writing music without it ever.
