I've owned quite a few Epiphone Flying V's, the new 2020 model is far better than the ones they've put out before. The rolled fingerboard edges and neat fretwork are just great for comfort, and it stays in tune very well. It's also very lightweight, and usually that means it's a bit neck-heavy, but this version is well balanced and I haven't had any problems with neck dive. Overall, regardless of genre, this is worth a look if you want a V. Plus, zZounds shipped it on a Friday, tracking said expected delivery would be Tuesday, I actually got it that Sunday before.

"A Killer V for the price"

I bought this guitar on a whim, and I am glad I did.The newer version by Epiphone is great, no neck dive, very comfortable to play.I wanted a Gibson Mustaine model, but the price point to me is not worth it.The guitar out of the box was playable, but it needed a setup and the fretboard oiled. The factory pickups were a bit muddy when distorted, similar to burstbuckers, but not really.I installed a set of Seymour Duncan Thrash Factors, now the guitar wails. Also in the pictures it shows a small post bridge, the guitar comes with a large post bridge.Good tuning keys, level frets, good electronics, the only upgrade needed is the pickups.

Classic rock, hard rock, heavy metal, thrash metal, been playing off and on since the 80's

"Like a tele on steroids"

Gibson inspired Epiphone flying V is a great guitar and affordable! I truly enjoy this guitar straight from the box. Intonation was almost spot on and once I put on my own strings it is perfect. The CTS potentiometer and the new Epiphone burst bucker pro pickups are on the money for PAF. I play Blues, country and people ask if I put Lollars or Fralin pickups in it Lol. It's like a tele on steroids!

This is my first purchase from zZounds but I heard nothing but good reviews. The site is great and the payment plans make getting gear super easy. As for the guitar itself, it sounds fantastic, the frets are buttery smooth, and it’s light and well balanced. My only gripe is the pick guard was a bit warped on arrival. The tip that of the guard pointing to the output jack is warped a few millimeters and it stuck me pretty good. An easy fix but definitely want to bring to your guys’ attention!

1. The tuners seemed smooth and reliable, though I only used them for the first tuning and then switched to Gotah locking tuners. Not going back to wrapping and winding strings.2. Neck is comfortable for me. Fingerboard isn't perfect, but that's ok. It does however have a very close look n' feel of Indian Rosewood to it, which I appreciate. Rosewood is higher quality than this Laurel, but with CITIES restrictions shutting everything down I won't complain.3. Fretwork is nicely done, hope they are of decent quality and hold up for a while.4. CTS pots = awesome, no drilling the holes bigger to get CTS pots in it, it already has them.5. Pickups sound good, probably only need to switch them if you already have a favorite pickup and tone you get from it. I think these were the same pickups that were in the Epiphone Black Beauty 3 I once had, I never changed them.

Picked up the black Flying V based on the original 50’s models and am really enjoying it. This model has the strap button on the shoulder and I’d prefer it on the back SG style but it also has a string thru design which is what I want. I can always move the strap button. The string thru gives its a really nice sustain. The mahogany body and neck are light weight and resonant. No neck dives, very well balanced. Pickups sound great, clear and good output and running through several classic pedals into a Marshall and this thing sounds very metal. It played well right out of the box and even better after I tweaked the neck and oiled up the frets. The neck isn’t bound but the dots on the side of the board is glossed like the body and neck which I liked. This is a quality guitar at a great price. It makes owning a Flying V practical and affordable. zZounds makes it all possible with their great financing and fast shipping. I bought a case at the same time and they snipped the guitar in the case which I appreciated very much. This is not my first nor will it be my last guitar from zZounds. Love the prices and the service and easy payment system.

I was impressed with this guitar. It's really light. Absolutely no flaws at least that I can find. I almost left the stock pickups in. But I went ahead and changed them. Used a Gibson 498t in the bridge and a Seymour Duncan 59 in the neck. The truss rod was a bit to tight so I had to loosen it just a 1/4 turn. But Epiphone does not give you the truss rod tool. I've bought the V the explorer the worn Les Paul and the sg standard. None came with the truss rod tool. But all are great guitars. Worth every penny. My V sounds better than stock now but stock was good too.

This Epi "V" ,is a great player. It's comfortable to play , neck is great.Everything is solid about this instrument. I thought that when I ordered it that I was gonna have to replace the pick-ups, not the case. It's my new favorite player and I own 7 guitars.
