I am very impressed. I also own two other epiphones a Zepher blues deluxe also a fine guitar and a SG prophecy custom with 81/85 pickups a beautiful guitar great sounding. I could write much more about my pellam blue beauty but the last thing I will say is it is an exceptional guitar, I am very happy to own one!

I've had this guitar for about 6 months and continue to be amazed at the value. I had it professionally set up and replaced the nut with custom bone. The guitar stays in tune and tonal possibilities are incredible. Pull the nobs and get a vintage single coil sound. Push'em in and get the beefy Gibson mudd. Simply put, if you like the feel of a SG and the sound of a Les Paul, buy it. It is kinda a two in one deal and at $450 this guitar is a steal.

WoW!!! Awesome guitar. First one shipped was bit defected w/treble strings laying on tailpiece causing it to vibrate and make annoying noises. Plus the neck didnt feel right. once i changed the strings neck was good. Got replacement and like i said WOW awesome. came tuned and intonated to a T. neck feels smooth and like butter to play up n down it. Sound and look is sexy and awesome. I'm just luving this guitar over my nitefly at moment. I cant put it down. which is a good thing!! Thanks ZZ esp. to Tom.

got it a few months ago closest thing u will get to a Gibson without spending a ton. put a resomax bridge and tusq nut on it. it stays in tune sounds amazing and feels like home in ur hands. been playing for 25 years and owned some avri jaguars dean evo's Jackson dinky's American strats etc this is the best guitar I've ever bought or played. sounds pretty close to a gibby and that is considering the price. gonna by an sg standard because I've always wanted one but with this epi I really don't NEED it just want it. epi's are no joke anymore and this is the real deal. really love this thing and urge sg fans to get one before they are gone

"Another winner from Epiphone!"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars

First things first...what a looker! It really pops and draws the eye. I have anothe PB SG, the '66 PRO. Where that one is pretty enough, the new one is stunning. The finish is flawless and the build quality lives up to the looks. Epi has really raised their game these last few years. Plays beautifully after very minor tweaking, and sounds great. One bit of confusion exists tho. The early press releases ststed this guitar had Alnico Classic pickups, and even the description on the Epi website says the same. Yet the spec sheet says Probuckers! Gibson customer service says Probuckers, as does Zzounds, so perhaps that mix up has been rectified. Regardless, this is an excellent guitar and one helluva value!

Well the guitar actually plays and sounds like a real Gibson SG. I have owned a real Angus Young model Gibson SG and a Gibson SG Standard. Okay here we go. The action on this Epiphone is better than on the Angus model right out of the box. And I expect the humbucker covers won`t turn like the nickel Angus ones did. The Angus model has tan binding on the neck to make it look aged, the Epiphone doesn`t. I feel that is a plus. So the Epi is about the same guitar, But $1,500 cheaper. The SG standard doesn`t seem to have any advantage over this guitar either. The pickups on this have the regular Gibson mud, Like most Gibsons do. I will put a high output Dimarzio in the bridge. With these pickups the coil tapping doesn`t do much. With a Dimarzio in it , It will make a world of difference. The tuners ugh, a Sperzel upgrade is in order. Great guitar for the money. It has the look and feel, but also some of the bad aspects of a real Gibson. So for the money, and you want the sound, Here you go, Buy one of these and save bux. It needs the same upgrades as a real Gibson SG.

So I have been eying this guitar for a while. It plays and sounds better than the entry level Gibson SG hanging on the wall beside it. I’m thoroughly impressed. Add a decent amp and a good glass slide, and well that is my idea of sweet inspiration!!

"Epiphone SG"

This guitar is made as well as an actual Gibson. And actually maybe even a little better than my 97 SG Standard. The setup right from zzounds is pretty darn good. The pickups have the thick Gibson sound , which to me is just a touch of muddy. But so is my Angus Sg and the Standard. The reason I bought this guitar is for the coil taps. With these pickups very little difference in sound. But when you put a super dist Dimarzio in or even a hotter one. What a difference. So the weakness are the pickups and tuners, But if you own a Gibson you know they are the first things you swap out. So it has Gibson quality, with the Gibson probs. I never contacted Gibson ,So I will not rate support. Good deal on a guitar. And if you ever have the dreaded Headstock break, no big deal.
