"Great bit of kit."

Overall: 4 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I'd pay a bit more for a more 'pro' look and feel (more metal, better connectors, better level pots)
Sound
Good sound, although headphone output is a bit quiet.
Features
Good. Although I wish it had XLR line output with separate level adjustment, and I'd like it to have some sort of indication of where unity was on in/out level pots. Their list of compatible software is a bit limited.
Quality
Well made. Arguably, there's a lot of extra plastic - I popped the lid to see inside and the box is practically empty.
Value
amazing value.
Manufacturer Support
No support required. Don't anticipate needing it.
The Wow Factor
It was a practical addition, but couldn't do without it now.

"For the musician/producer on a budget."

Overall: 4 out of 5 stars

In the long run I'll probalbly replace this with a similar piece that has more simultaneous inputs for mics, keyboards, drum machines etc and can accomodate external effects. I'll probably get something with firewire and moving faders too.
Sound
I use a shure sm57 to record vocals with this unit and it comes out really clear. Personall, I can't see the need for a seperate pre amp. Just make sure you use XLR cables and not TRS for mics.
Features
I wish the unit had more analog inputs and another headphone output(although a Y-jack can solve the headphone issue)
Quality
I wouldn't take it on the road unless it was sitting on a big cushion the whole way. It's kinda light but as long as it stays on my desk, it's not a problem.
Value
Compared to other devices that do the same thing, it's price is very competitive.
Manufacturer Support
Haven't needed it.
The Wow Factor
There are sexier machines out there but the price and the UR-80's ability made me get it.
