Ok to start off, I currently don't have a "top of the line" rig. My rig is a GK Goldline series 500W head with the matching 410 cabinet. Now I've had this rig for 10 years, and it isn't the best, but nowadays I use it more for practice since I'm usually playing at "plug and play" gigs lately. Well I needed a preamp so I can have the option of running through the PA in case a house rig wasn't available...or I would use my rig as a last resort. Man this thing made my rig shine...totally transformed my sound. I still plan to get a better rig, but right now I don't need to. This and my multi fx pedal is all I need for the time being. One of the best preamps on the market, if not the best. It is so versatile, I am still discovering different tone options. It is very well worth the price tag.

This pedal has transformed my sound. I play bass in a hardcore band, and have earned the association of being in the "Tone Zone." And it's because Dark Glass has set themselves apart. Deep, heavy distortion without sacrificing sound. Cuts through drums and guitar without over powering. The versatility is incredible! Worth every penny. If you're serious about a crisp and heavy tone that performs on stage as well as in the studio, this is for you.
