"Too curved to be usable"

Out of the package, this pick is curved quite a bit, about 1/2 the pick thickness, and so far from being flat I found it unusable. I emailed D'Addario about this and they said since it is based on natural protein (but let's be honest, still a manufactured material), a "slight bend ... can happen naturally" and suggested I hold the pick while using it to try and reverse the bend. Seriously. I can't play with a bent pick, and while I do understand that casein *can* bend, I should not have to start with a bent pick. Ridiculous. (And, since I took it out of the package, there's no returning it here.) FWIW, the sound of this pick is rather bright compared to denser high-end "plastics" I've used, more like a Primetone of similar gauge. It feels smooth across the strings, but, of course, it feels very different on up and down strokes because of the curvature.
