This mic preamp sounds excellent - it has a very cool full tone for vocals. The eq is super smooth - I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a quality mic preamp. For the price, I think it's an excellent value.

This is a heavy, solid piece of equipment. Never used a Neve pre before, but if this is anywhere close than WOW! Great tone. Used primarily for vocal tracking and it never fails. The harmonics and midrange push are beautiful to me. Can be cleanish if needed, but I have other pres for that. Vocals just cut and sit nicely in a track after recording with the 7603.The EQ is very musical. Engaged without any boos or cut it imparts a gentle sweetness. The high band provides a nice air and the lows are round and controlled. The mid section is sweet.Highly recommend! Not dark but open and clear!

Bought 2 for my mastering chain. I'm over impressed at its dynamic range ' sound and flavor. Build quality is top notch and nice. It would find it's way in any area of a studio. Must grab a must have for the budget conscious studio.
