I have a Peavey Classic 30 and a '80 Led Paul custom. The Blue Marvel speaker that came with the amp always had that ice picky sound to it. I began a quest for tone (never ending for guitar players). Changed out the original 490 humbucker and SD Allen Holdsworth model for classic '57 & '57 plus. Then started looking at the amp. The amount of replacement speakers can be overwhelming however I kept coming back to the greenback. I just couldn't find anything close for this price range. I wanted a classic sound with a little bit of bite to it. I plugged in my DS-1 and with a couple of adjustments from EQ I was in tonal eargasm. This is a very nicely balanced sounding speaker that also sounds awesome clean or dirty. Also I have to say that living in NJ helped with shipping. I ordered Wednesday morning and Thursday afternoon it was on my door step.

Very clear and musical. Celestion nailed it with this speaker that would suit anyone's playing style.

Ease of Use
Install was pretty straight forward in my Peavey Classic 30.
Quality
The speaker seems well made from China.
Value
For $125.00 this thing is a steal. I am now thinking of building my own 2x12 cabinate and plan on using at least one greenback in it.

Not sure if I would try a different brand from now on. Celestion is a tone junkie's dealer.

I have a Marshall origin 50h and the 4x12 cab. Sounded pretty good but there was something always missing. I finally decided to swap speakers. I wasn’t very sure which ones to choose but I decided a go safe with greenbacks as everyone says that’s the classic rock sound, and some people do metal with them as well so I gave it a shot.I considered change my amp and guitar coz I couldn’t get the tone I was looking for.I was hugely impressed about how radical the sound changed by swapping speakers.It was a great investment and much more affordable than going for a Gibson guitar or an expensive Marshall amp.I assure you that this Marshall origin amp reaches it’s actual potential through high quality speakers.It just sounds like a got a new amp.If you aren’t happy with your sound or feel like something’s missing, and you are considering get an expensive amp, or guitar or change strings or pick, stop and consider swapping speakers, that can be your solution and much more affordable than something way more expensive.

"Hear the Glory"
I think I'll be quite satisfied for awhile.

This is a nicely balanced speaker with good full bass, killer mids and warm, clear highs.

If you're a guitarist on the eternal quest for tone- don't ignore your speakers! The Greenback has dramatically changed and improved the sound of my amp. Highly recommended.

I recently ordered a fender limited addition blues Junior with a 25 W Celestion greenback already installed in it into my ear that’s what makes this amplifier great at first when I got it the speaker was a little tight but the more I played it the more broken and it became that dangerous house that just sounds wonderful I think this speaker is as good as any and if you have a blues Junior now you’ve had it for a while and you don’t like the sound I would suggest changing the speaker out with a green backRock ‘n’ roll Hoochie coo

"Great rock speakers"
I'll be keeping these for a long time.
Sound
Excellent classic rock and blues sound. I put 2 of these in a home made 2x12 cabinet and they sound awesome.
Features
Its a speaker - has everything it needs.
Ease of Use
Getting a wide range of sounds that suit my needs, particularly rock and blues
Quality
No probelems with quality so far. Expect them to last 20 years at least!
Value
Got them for $159 each in Australia. Very competitive price.
