"Cad C195 - Love it!"

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Did I mention I love this Mic! - I actually somehow lost my first one at our last gig. Or it's somewhere in someones gear but I can't find it. Either way I just ordered another one. If my first one shows up I'll have 2 and that'll be just fine. I'm thinking about getting one for everyone in the band anyway.
Sound
I love this Mic. Use it at practice & for our live shows. Excellent sound with very little gain needed.
Features
What features do you need? - I really like the mesh screen.
Ease of Use
Plug it in and sing, what else is there.
Quality
Never any problems
Value
Best for the money - my money anyway. Did I mention I love this mic.
Manufacturer Support
Haven't needed it.
The Wow Factor
I like the coloring - Much better looking than (chrome)

""Get 'em"!!!!"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars

I hope they last forever, if not, I'll buy more.
Sound
I use these mics primarily for my contemporary church choir. Although, I also use them when I gig out occassionally. They allow you to project vocals with a minimum of strain on your voice and the clarity is superb. My advice...in the church setting you need to be aware of the natual reverb and compensate for feedback with your EQ-rolling off low end, flatten the highs and pulling back on the mids will take care of it. Usisng a processor with gate and compression controls is probably a better way to go.
Features
Great for picking up multible singers. Also, nice natural sound from acoustic intruments.
Ease of Use
If you're not use to using this type of mic for live peformances you'll need to play around with them a bit.
Quality
They feel very sturdy and look great.
Value
These mics are well worth the price. I use SM-58's and these C-195's blow them away.
Manufacturer Support
I found these mics on another site and beat the price without a hassle. These guys are amazing. I get most all of my equipment from here.
The Wow Factor
Get 'em. Period!!!

"CAD C195 ...Great little mic."

Overall: 4 out of 5 stars

This review has been selected by our experts as particularly helpful.
I'm very satisfied with this mic and with CAD mics in general. They are typically very well made and perform well. While many more expensive (and probably better performing) mics are on the market, I'm not afraid to bring these out to be mishandled, dropped, bumped... they still deliver great sound for their price and if it breaks (hasn't happened yet) ...I'll get another and it won't break the bank. I'm always on the look-out for a great deal and I have found that I usually end up with a CAD when it comes to microphones.
Sound
The sound reproduction is very realistic, very true-to-life. Once I tried condenser mics, I was hooked.
Features
Pretty basic as far as features. Came with a mic stand mount. I like the finish, mesh screen looks very sturdy.
Ease of Use
Sound characteristics are very good; not hard to dial in a pleasing level and tone. I've used this mic for live solo-ing, choral singing, home recording, even vocal practice.
Quality
CAD mics have generally served me very well. I have never been disapointed in their performance.
Value
Value is excellent. Great bang for the buck. Remarkable performance for a low price.
Manufacturer Support
Have not dealt with them.
The Wow Factor
Sex appeal? I don't think so! It's a microphone. But as far as mic's go, it's a handsome mic, nice color contrast between the screen and frame. Looks great, performs great, reasonably priced... what more could you ask for?

"Excellent value for very practical item."

Overall: 4 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Written by one of our gear experts!
Sound
Great sound quality and excellent value for the price.
Features
Comes with sturdy mic clip and XLR cable. Wish it had on/off switch though.
Ease of Use
Simple condenser handheld mic, just make sure you got a phantom power source and you're good to go!
Quality
Solid build. I unscrewed the grille to check out the wiring and the capsule is well-protected.
Value
Again, excellent value. No point in spending more on a handheld condenser...unless the room acoustics and audio interface quality calls for it.
The Wow Factor
More of a need than want. More practical than luxury.

"Prompt Service"

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars

I purchased one CAD 195 microphone on 4/24/2012 but it was defective out-of-the-box. Customer service paid return shipping and offered a replacement promptly. The replacement worked normally. On 5/15/2012 I ordered five more CAD 195 microphones. I'm using these for vocals in a howse of worship that has a "praise and worship" style service. The CAD 195's are replacing Shure SM-58's because the church has installed a "hearing loop" hearing assistance system which is incompatible with dynamic microphones. The CAD 195's sound about the same as SM-58's in most situations, although the CAD 195 has a little better high frequency response, and a little more proximity effect. (Of course phantom power is needed for the CAD 195's but not for the SM-58's. We use 48 V phantom power.) Our vocalists either like the CAD 195's or can't tell the difference compared to the SM-58's. So far I, the sound operator, am very satisfied. (This review as of June 11, 2012.)

"Great vocal Mic at a great price..."

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
They've lasted years and I'm still happy. I'm looking to get a few more!
Sound
The CAD C195 condenser mic bridges the gap btween great price and great performance. I use these specifically for chorale work and they never fail to bring out the best in the choir. Yes, they are not the top of the line; for I use a better quality of mic for the soloists. But for the general, all around choir, they really do deliver. I currently use six of these and given their performance and reasonable price, I'm happy just adding more of them in the future. These are not good for rock band work. I've tried them and they are way too sensative. But give them a try if you're doing an acoustic set. You won't be disappointed.
Features
Mic stand clip and cord included.
Ease of Use
Needs phantom power supply usually supplied from the mixing board (no battery compartment here...)
Quality
I have 6 of these I've used for several years. Still going strong.
Value
There are better mic's on the market but not many that can perform like the CAD C195 at the current selling price.
Manufacturer Support
N/A - These mic's are reliable.
The Wow Factor
What sex appeal??? It's a mic...

Amazing for the price. This mic performs like a high end mic. I have a Beta SM58 and the sensitivity from this mic surpasses my other mic. I marked 3 stars on sound because the darn survey will not let me change it to 4 stars.

Picked up 2 after using a buddies for rehearsal. Replaced 2 Shure dynamic mic's. Performance is great & can't complain about the price. The only drawback is no on/off switch.
