"Bugera PS1 Power Soak"

I first saw this on a different site and checked zZounds to see if they have it. But they were sold out at the time. I waited and when I saw they had it in stock I ordered it. But before I placed my order I checked the web to see some reviews but there was hardly any on YouTube. I was a little skeptical due to how cheap it was but said the hell with it and bought it anyway. Well....I am glad I did. This thing really brings out the best in my Marshall DSL. I can finally get that Marshall sound I love so much with getting a Disturbing the Peace citation from the local authorities.

Let the 'Power' of your Amplifiers, 'S'oak' your venue, practice site, bedroom, 1 level below that which your neighbors become your enemies and the exact level that brings smiles to your fans. Like others didn't find many videos to show me it's abilities, so I took a gamble also. And glad I did. A variety of hookup options makes it an inexpensive option for an attenuator

"Works quite and quiet well"

I wanted something that would tame my Pevey Classic 30. In band practice I could never put the amp volume over 2 without being blaringly loud. This power soak fills the bill. Now I run the Pevey at 6 and get a nice tube distortion without deafening people. Some people say a resistive power attenuator will be a tone soak, but I have not noticed any difference in tone. I also expected it to get hot, but it doesn't. Probably because I only have 30 watts to attenuate as opposed to 100, which this is rated to. Anyway, I highly recommend it.

As good as it might ever be at this price. Sounds good at low volumes without sucking out most of the tone. Getting a usable sound out of my 90 watt Mesa Mark V without having to crank it.

"Bugera PS1 is garbage"

It effectively allowed me to lower the volume on my Mesa Dual rectifier, but it sounded so bad that I couldn’t use it. It sucked all of the good tone out of the amp. Also the Bugera gets so hot that I was afraid of at best a burn if I touched it and at worst a fire. After realizing how hot it got I did some further research on forums about this unit and this was a common issue that people had. Save your money for a better attenuator. Since zZounds Does take returns I was able to send it back, but I had to pay return shipping so I essentially paid $25 to try this piece of garbage. Look for something else.
