I am very happy I got this amp. I haven't bought a new combo amp for a long time so I figured now was a good time seeing all the praise for this thing. When I first got it I thought it sounded good... a few nights of playing and it sounds awesome. The knobs are very sensitive and you can get a bunch of different tones with a lot of patient tweaking. The speaker also sounds great after a few days of consistent playing. So far my favorite rock/shred tone is the crunch with limited gain and the overdrive at the lowest setting. Very clear and fine attack with great tone. I have not used the delays, reverb and chorus to a great extent but they sound fine so far. Very easy to use and practical. I am also a classical guitarist and will try out my contact microphone through the acoustic channel at some point and a cheaper guitar with a built in mic. Great amp, great deal with the foot switch as well!

I like it because it's a very straight forward easy to use amp. But at the same time it has bells and whistles if you are feeling adventurous. It looks very nice...A bonus is that you can hook up your acoustic to it as well. Very versatile... Great cleans for electric guitar as well as great classic marshall dirty tones. And extra heavy tones for metal. (It has booster effects built in) so really no need for pedals. That's another good thing...I can just plug the guitar straight into the amp. And it sounds killer. It took a while to break the speaker in but once its broke in it sounds fantastic. The free software. (Boss tone studio) is really cool...Gives you complete control of parameters. Yes it does have a noise gate. If you're considering this amp I say go for it...very versatile..I find myself playing more and more because it's such a great amp..which is what makes you more proficient at guitar...Cheers.

There are sooo many choices when buying amps nowadays. And I've been through many in my life, starting over 10 years ago, trying to find the sound in my head. Now that I've gotten experienced with these things it comes down to equipment and gear in getting that sound, rather than tuning my ear to my equipment to believe it sounds good. I want to finally release material that Ive been writing for over 3 years and up until this point, Ive never been confident in my tone. When recording line out with amps I've had in the past, Im always left with some chintzy, airy recording that just sounds like a lot of fizz and requires heavy EQ just for me to move on to other tracks. Its time consuming when you have to stop and work out details, setting you back from other things you could be doing. I think I finally found my solution, after all these years. The first thing that drew me in was the name of this amp, the Artist. I personally identify with that name, and to me it says this amp gives you the control you need as an artist and the integrity in its design and craftsmanship to give you your freedom to create, with no limitations. When the market for a combo amp is so saturated, this stood out to me, and Im glad to say it lived up to its expectations. Also as an amp named Artist, I would expect it to have an element of inspiration. Well, every time I turn in on I'm risk of being late to something. I can sit an play for hours, in a state of flow. This amp lives up to its name and it is my sidekick. It all comes down to the Tone Library, finding that perfect tone, and you just cant stop playing.Ive had SS and Tubes in the past, spending thousands on half stacks and combos that advertise it has all the tone you need. I always end up selling them, as I feel limited by what I can achieve with them, however I think Ill be keeping my Artist around for years to come, should it stay faithful to me as I am to it. It really sounds that good out the speaker or into my interface.Another reason I bought this amp is I've always used independent acoustic and electric guitar amps. This amp does both exceptionally. You get all the same features on your acoustic as you do on your electric with the TL. Not only sounds top notch, but its just plain fun to create with this amp.Ive never had any Boss/Roland equipment before, but I hope this amp lasts me as long as I need it to. Which is forever basically. Buying this has just been one thing out of my way to finally manifesting my music and I could not be happier.

As a stand alone amp this thing is so versatile, excellent build quality, and AMAZING tones, couple this with the TONE STUDIO and you can find any tone you are looking for. The foot switch is built like a tank also. This will make your tubehead buddys jealous. this blows everything else including the token tube amp brands away. Bone crunching old school or modern metal, classic rock, fusion, ambient, jazz, blues, and pristine cleans all come out of this thing. The tone studio is a dream come true with so many features, settings, pedals, and choices. You can literally CRAFT THE AMP toy YOUR tone!!! I love this thing and I love ZZOUNDS!

I stoped gigging many years ago and got rid of all of my tube amps (marshall, fender, peavey, carvin). The past years I have just been recording music at home and I run my guitar through my studio and processors which worked well for me. I decided that maybe it is time to buy a small amp for more depth. I am a huge fan of boss effects and I heard alot of good things about the Katana series amps. When the Katan Artist amp was announced I knew that I had to get one. I am in no way disappointed at all with this amp. I bought the big footswitch and the optional bank switch pedal and now I have an 8 channel amp. This is a great. The ToneStudio software is awesome too, I have been using it for a few years now with my other boss equipment. This amp is loud, but I have to use it on the lowest power setting as I live in a condo and I don't want to piss off the neighbors, but everyonce and I while I'll crank it up and it sounds fantastic. It loves my other pedals and sounds so clean. A very good alternative to a tube amp. Plus it's not that heavy either.
