Bogner Uberschall Overdrive Pedal

Channel a roaring heavy metal sound with Bogner's Uberschall Overdrive Pedal. Inspired by the Uberschall amplifier, it has mind-blowing high-gain tones.

Reinhold Bogner's new line of pedals. I needed more of a high gain pedal this time so I thought I would give the new Bogner a shot. That being said this pedal does what it claims, it sounds like the Uberschall amp channel, it has an amp feel and great note articulation, a very nicely voiced dist pedal. Better than a lot of them to be sure but do not expect an over the top gain monster.
Sound
Very good sounding pedal. Cleans up with guitar roll off and gain control down, can serve as an overdrive. Gained up, nice voicing, great note articulation, treble does not get too bright and shrill, bass in thunderous and would be great for detuned guitars. Mid control is like the Uberschall amp presence control, 12:00 boosts mids. Does a scooped mids sound or a cutting mid presence with both ranges being very musically useful and great sounding. Gain level is like an amp, not an over the top metal gain pedal as one might expect. Just a great sounding higher gain with better than most articulation.
Features
Boost adds a volume increase or cut only, not a gain boost as the Red and Blue pedals have. Controls are stiff and smooth have a feel of quality. Nice range of tones. I am sure anyone could dial up a good sound pending your style of playing. Not an extreme metal fizz pedal but more a quality amp sounding pedal, thick, rich, fullrange sound.
Ease of Use
Simple, no bad tones here.
Quality
Hard to imagine anything having better quality, Bogner uses two sided gold plated boards, relays, high end German and better quality Japanese caps.
Value
These new boxes are not cheap but the Uberschall is the less of the three. One expects to pay from $200-300 for a top shelf more boutique pedal these days.
Manufacturer Support
no idea
The Wow Factor
Impressive pedal, a quality of sound. My wife was impressed by the box it came in, sort of a suede papered covering, embossed Bogner label and note from Reinhold on the bottom with his thumbprint of approval. Different.

"The best distortion pedal I have owned to date."

I have been playing electric guitar avidly since 1989 and have owned a ton of distortion pedals over the decades. This pedal - actually rivals the tone of my Orange Thunderverb 200. The tonal qualities are all exceptional and the EQ knobs are VERY repsonsive, giving me a wide range of tones. I do enjoy it cranked all the way up with the Low set to full, the mid about halfway or less and the highs set to about 8 of 10. Again, VERY fine pedal. I'm keeping it for sure.

I play guitar. I am in a couple of bands. I am endorsed by Orange Amplifiers too.
