"Live performers need this mixer!"

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars

Sound
I use it for live bluegrass band performances to input into a 1000 Watt PA system and to record the performance. It is a very resilient unit that can take live outdoor performances and the normal abusive handling it gets. Sound is great, but there is a little noise with less sensitive microphones.
Features
If it only had an ON/OFF switch!
Manufacturer Support
The Behringer support people in Washington state are totally knowledgable of the products, and have developed supplements to the manuals that really make using the item easy.

For Years to come it's on 24/7 and this is a Real Test to it's stability. DJ on line well got to have it on and going.
Sound
With the Mics it is Clear and Clean, Each setting is just right.. This unit is Rock solid too, when it was shipped it was in a Box way too big for it, so it was banged around.. This is a great way to make sure something is going to work, since I do not take this on the road others may and this stood up to that. Sound can do no wrong.
Features
The Inputs I needed a certain amount and Well this Fit my needs to the T. As for FX there is none built in but then the DSP2024 will fix that. My Base plugged in and it just worked. With that and the Mics it is very verstile and the Tape is best over all.
Ease of Use
Just plug in the headphones and there you go. Right away fine tuning it to the needs. When I get it into the Broadcast it will be perfect with how it sounds. Learning this was a breeze.
Quality
Rock Solid!
Value
Worth Every Penny
Manufacturer Support
Personally did not need help to get this working excepting the right Plug to the Sound Card for broadcasting. That is all it does not show. This is the only limitation to my needs
The Wow Factor
Love its looks. Perfect fit for my Needs

"Small wonder"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
If i lose this one, I'll probably go for a ub1002.
Sound
Great budget mixer all though a lil' bigger than the cute 502.Sound quality is ok,but yu can't really expect complete silence from an analog mixer.bang for the buck.Basically I use it as a mic preamp and for extra inputs. The preamps work really well with high end condensors, but once i had to use a dynamic mic,and i really had a tough time fighting with the noise it produced. It's compatible with everything.Basic piece o equipment.Quality is not lost even when fully loaded. It's better for recording though i've not used it much on live occassions.I use M-AUDIO AUDIOPHILE24/96 for recording mic inputs alone and monitoring inputs from the control room. This mixer work very efficiently. There's the tape-to-ctrlroom option so u can use it to both record and monitor. One way of improving the 802 is by adding a power switch. But I guess only because the power unit is outside there is low noise.
Features
For a mixer in this price range,it's packed with features allthough effects had to be externally connected. The seperate ctrl room out and main outs are a nice idea for such a mixer.
Ease of Use
Amazing! Even a five year old can work with this. The manual goes as far as to explain some wiring details which is to be appreciated. The eqs work well esp. in case of mics.
Quality
Once again behringer has done it.Amazingly designed metal body which also has a stylish look. The blue power led does irritate me sometimes(lol).Very sturdy body which is actually meant for the road.I seriously doubt whether the various controls will work well in dusty conditions.
Value
Redefines the phrase 'bang for the buck'.Go for it if you're outta inputs or own a bedroom studio of yours.
Manufacturer Support
I've never had any direct experiences,as i've not had ANY problems with it.But i've heard they're quite friendly.

"No good for vocals"

Overall: 3 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I am already searching for a suitable "replacement". I have spent weeks trying ALL possible settings to minimize distortion and nothing has worked.
Sound
I don't know about anyone else, but this thing seems to distort at medium/high gain volume. With the pre-amp cranked, every word clips. Get anywhere near 6db output and it's distortion city. Fine for low gain, no good for high gain (like going into a compressor)
Features
Features are actually very good.
Quality
Build quality is slighty better than mediocre. The metal casing is tough, but the feet are super-crap. The mixer always wobbles and slides when your turning knobs etc. Having no power switch was a seriously stupid idea.
Value
It's ok for some applications, no good for others. For most instruments it seems fine. For vocals, it was no good at all.

Sound
For the price, the sound is great. It has an ever so slight bit of noise, but I use for live performances and so that is mroe than good enough. For a recording, it could be a problem.
Features
For live performances with fairly small setups this is a fantastic mixer. Very small, and the price is great. I kindof wish you could monitor channels in the headphones though (like a DJ mixer), but I guess that would make it more expensive.
Ease of Use
Very easy to use.
Quality
Very Sturdy.
Value
For the price, its a great value.
Manufacturer Support
Never needed any support.

"Why did I buy it??"

Overall: 2 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Already looking for a replacement, I want to record.
Sound
Too much hiss. The pre-amps are invisible, but I can hear them, and they are noisy.
Features
Its very cheap. It has all the features a budget mixer needs.
Ease of Use
Built like most mixers.
Quality
Crackly pots, channels hisss....
Value
Its very cheap, but don't even think about using it for recording.
The Wow Factor
No use for me. Except to learn about mixers a bit.

Sound
Noisy. Some of the pots are scratchy when turned. Hisses if any channel gain is turned up beyond half. Way too much noise for a recording situation. I'm returning this puppy!
Features
Seems to have a lot of nice features for the price, but they features don't do any good if the audio isn't up to snuff. It isn't
