Behringer DI4000 Ultra-DI Customer Review

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars

I own two of these and use them to basically balance all my unbalanced signals. I have never used a better DI box. The siganl attenuators and boosters allow you to get the perfect signal strength to the mixer so you can have maximum versatility without clipping, hiss, or hum. I definitely recomend it.

Overall I rate this as excellent.
Sound
Sound is excellent. Allows tailoring the inputs to optimize the signal, with no hum or buzz. Much better than passive boxes.
Features
With 40 dB of attenuation and 20 dB of active gain, you can "fix" any input to match the mixer.
Quality
Looks good - sturdy case.
Value
For 25 bucks for each channel for an ACTIVE DB, it's a good value.
Manufacturer Support
N/A Haven't had to contact the maker, which is good!
The Wow Factor
May have to buy another one to tailor more inputs.

I'd buy another one tomorrow if something were to happen to the one I have.
Sound
Doesn't make any noise, doesn't color the sound, has -40 to +20dB of signal attenuation/gain and signal strength led's for each channel. It's great!
Features
Great features for a great price.
Ease of Use
Couldn't be easier.
Quality
Looks great, feels sturdy.
Value
4-channel active DI for $79? Can't go wrong!
Manufacturer Support
Don't really knowm haven't needed it yet.
The Wow Factor
Looks great. Doesn't make me giddy to look at it like some rackmount stuff does, but, it's attractive.

"Behringer DI: not for serious touring musicians."

Overall: 1.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
No comments, nuff said.
Sound
If you're looking for quality, don't buy this. Maybe in a studio setup it'll prove to be useful, but it's not for touring musicians.
Features
Yes, great specs....but great great specs don't mean anything if you have a constant hum in one channel, and some other channels aren't producing any sound at all.
Quality
Let's be honest, it's Behringer. It's very, very cheap. So honestly, we can't complain. For home/studio use, it's probably great value for money. For use on the road: don't buy it.
Value
It's worth the money! But no more than that. Serious touring musicians should look into BSS, or even better, Radial. Behringer offer cheap stuff, and some products aren't bad at all. In this case however, a DI is vital in a live situation, and my Behringer DI's caused me nothing but unexplainable hums after a good 3 years of use...three out of four DI's went dead on me a month later.
The Wow Factor
It looks great, as with most Behringer stuff.

"Great deal, a must for bands that use electronics."

If it was stolen, I'd buy another one. Beats using the beat units that clubs have.
Sound
Doesn't color the sound, does what it's supposed to do.
Features
A lotta buttons for a plain ol' DI box.
Ease of Use
Everything is straight forward. Even the dumbest soundguy could figure it out.
Quality
Rackmountable and metal. Can't be beat.
Value
4 DIs in one box, and at a good price. Can't be beat.
Manufacturer Support
Haven't had to use their support, but their website has all the manuals, if you ever need them.
The Wow Factor
If you do any electronic stuff live, this is a great, useful little box.
