Got this recently and it immediately replaced a Sennheiser e835 as my go-to vocal might. It’s brighter and less muddy and sits much better in my mixes. Great match for the harmonics of my Blogger when screaming classic rock / blues songs. Build quality is fine too. Idk if it’s actually as indestructible as the Shure it imitates but I have zero concerns about durability.

"Too Cheap"

This mic is intended to imitate the Shure Beta 58A, but it sounds distinctly different. This mic is harsher, more sibilant, and requires more EQ than the Shure. It does maintain the "honky" Shure midrange, but also has a little more low-end. This is where the positive attributes end. The BA 85A has horrible handling noise--in fact, unless you are going to leave it in a stand, do not even try to use it! The BA 85A also does a poor job at rejecting plosives, practically requiring an additional foam pop filter. Finally, for a mic that is advertised as a super-cardioid, the BA 85A has very weak off-axis sound rejection. For $25 it is hard to go wrong, but if you want a mic for serious performance, save up and buy better.
