I placed my order for the ART TUBE MP STUDIO mic pre-amp/leveler last afternoon at 2:57 PM. Fed-Ex had the package at my door at 9:57 AM. Seventeen hours? Wow. And that was the free shipping option!I was awake all night reading reviews on various forums. The overall bad reviews and negative comments deflated my excitement. They were mostly wrong, IMHO. Gave it a test with a Shure SM57 on three scratch vocal tracks into my Tascam DP24-SD. My fears were unfounded. This little beauty worked wonders. Is it perfect? No, but what piece of gear is? I can't wait until the blood clot in my lung is healed to sing to my heart's content. Before, I was always disappointed with the sound of my vocal tracks. With the ART, I didn't have to wear myself out pushing my voice into the mic - the days of feeling like I'm working too hard at singing are behind me now. And for $49! I'm very happy. When I can afford a decent condenser mic, it will be even better. Thanks zZounds for such quick service.
Sound
Very clear on my voice with the right amount of "air." There was no muddiness that I could discern. Super easy to use and super good looking piece of gear.
Features
I think it works just fine. Haven't really tried it on any instruments. As per some reviews I've read elsewhere, the VU meter doesn't really show accurately, but its a beautiful, classy- looking addition to the overall unit.
Ease of Use
It was easy enough to dial in a good tone for my voice. Is there some noise? Yes, but not enough to notice in a mix.
Quality
All-metal casing. Solid knobs and buttons. Extremely attractive and has enough weight to it to make it feel much more expensive. I don't know about the inner workings, but, if they're close the quality if the casing, then, it should last for years.
Value
Its at the right price. No buyer's remorse at all.
Manufacturer Support
Haven't had to contact them this soon, as I just received my unit.
The Wow Factor
The design, which is gorgeous, and the feel of the ART TUBE MP STUDIO would look great just sitting on a shelf or a fireplace mantle. It exudes a coolness that most of my other gear doesn't.

Musical Background:

45+ years trying to compose and record sinegs I hope people will enjoy.

Musical Style:

Short pop songs. They've been likened to Guided By Voices, which I think is more praise than I deserve.

This is studio quality equipment at an extremely cheap price and fits in well in the digital realm to warm up whatever you are recording.
Sound
I purchase 2 of these units and use them in various formation. I have used them in line for analogue to digital transfer of vinyl records and cassettes for warming up analogue to digital transfers to my computer. I have also use it for a DI box to play my bass through. Also works well with guitar to give a warm rich sound. This also is great for a mic preamp and gives a very warm sound for vocal tracks. The ART Tube MP just blows me away especially for the $30 I paid for it. I think I will buy a couple of more at this price. The sound of this unit is unbelievable for the price. Clear, warm, and clean.
Features
At this price I did not expect a power supply to come with it - it did. There is also a 3 year manufacturers waranty with the unit which is unbelievable since most electronic equipment usually has a year warranty or less. You can tell this company is really trying to make a name for themselves. This is a quality unit at a fantastic price. I don't know what else they could improve on for this unit.
Ease of Use
Plug and go.
Quality
Wow!!! When I ordered this I thought it was going to be in a plastic case. It is in a steel casing and built like a tank.
Value
This unit is comparable to units costing $200.
Manufacturer Support
Haven't had to use.
The Wow Factor
This unit is pretty sexy with the retro style analogue meter.

"Best $30 investment in your audio gear ever!"

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars

I will be buying another one very soon for stereo applications. This is a keeper.
Sound
Crisp, clear, yet smooth and rich. True tube preamp with a true tube preamp sound. I don't give high marks easily, but this baby can esily take on 20 times more expensive products in its class. Simply beautiful on acoustic guitar.
Features
All essential are there: gain dial, VU, limiter (great!) and few extras: XLR and 1/4" inputs and outputs; metal case
Ease of Use
Simple to use; dial in gain, choose output level and off you go.
Quality
Professional feel. Metal case, solid and heavy.
Value
By far best $30 I have ever spent on a peace of studio equipment (and I have spent $$$)

"Can't go wrong"

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Plan on using for a long time. It just fits so many roles and is cheap enough where I don't mind using it live.
Sound
Sounds nice and warm and quiet. Will blow away any cheap built in pre.
Features
Wish the 1/4" out was TRS
Ease of Use
Very straign forward. Just plug it in and use.
Quality
Was much more solid than I thought it would be.
Value
Can't go wrong at this price. If you don't like it for vocals or decide to upgrade it also sounds great as a bass DI.
Manufacturer Support
havn't used
The Wow Factor
If you are using a lower end board you want one or two of these. It will definatly help your sound.
