Sound
I actually got a chance to compare the C414 with the Studio Projects C1, Neuman TLM-103, and an MXL V69, all hooked up to a Studio Projects VTB-1 pre-amp in my home studio. The C1 sounded weak and more high-colored than I would like, the C414 sounded flat but natural, the TLM 103 sounded terrible with both my voice & my girlfriend's voice as there was no warm and too much high color, the V69 sounded great with my girlfriend's voice but was a little dull with my voice (I have decently-warm voice, while she has high voice, we both are performing singers). I sold all the other mics and kept the C414. Not quite sure what happened with the Neuman, cuz it was supposed to be the most expensive. I'm quite happy with my choice, and have stopped upgrading my mic since then. It is a versatile mic and sound good on different type of vocals.
Value
It is a little more expensive than most people like to spend for their home studio.

This is a must buy mic. You'll never regret if you purchase this mic.

This mic is usually for instrument... but I used it for vocal and it captured the detail of my voice.
Features
I used it in a studio in where I record.. so it's good.
Ease of Use
If you don't know any basics in recording set-up... you might wanna ask an expert, internet, or just go to any music store that sells music stuff and ask them.
Quality
This is worth to buy. You pay what you get and this mic is all around.. This could be your swiss knife for recording =)
Value
I'll be honest, this is a great mic, but it can be really expensive for starters.

"Great Mics"

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Yeah, we have other options in our mic locker but, these Mics get pulled out an awful lot. I like everything about the Mics, except I feel the shockmount could be of better construction, I like the older one AKG had much better.
Sound
We bought these Mics to use as overheads on a large drum set. The kit was aimed at a hardwood wall and the Mics spaced out about 3 feet above the kit and three feet apart aimed at the wall instead of down on the kit. WOW! Explosive sound. They are beautiful on acoustic guitar as they are on most sources we've tried them on. A true workhorse and quiet is not the word for these mics, and that is sweet as well. They can be a little bright, which is nice for overheads and some acoustic guitar applications. Background vocals especially female ones seem to love these mics. Live I have not tried them but can imagine as overheads they'd be awesome.
Features
The shockmount could be better. The pop filter supplied with thse mics seem pretty decent. The case is sturdy.
Quality
The only thing I am not too sure about is the switch which selects polar patterns as it could easily be accidentally changed.
Value
Great value as I've said this mic is a workhorse.
Manufacturer Support
No opinion, I've never had to call for support. Maybe this is the best answer. The Mics are sturdy and durable and very well made.
The Wow Factor
Yeah, they look cool, have that classic 414 vibe
