The DropSonic isn't just a one-sound pickup, either. The patented design utilizes 4-conductor wiring to access 2 different single-coil sounds plus parallel humbucking mode, for 3 additional sounds that are distinctive and versatile.

It sounds thick and punchy, yet clean bright and full. I put it at the bride position of my '83 Flying V. I'm using a Marshall 2203, 100-watt head for amplification and an old English Laney 4X12 cabinet. It responds very well with my gear.
Sound
It has a great "fat" tone, without any mud. Good even tone, you can hear each string ring and cut. A must for alternate tunings. I turned it around so the bar is facing the neck. I also placed a 560pF capacitor across the hot leads of the volume pot.
Quality
Solid construction.

It's worth every penny.
