Aggressively hammered B20 bronze, a thin profile, and a raw metal bell give the Sabian AAX Concept crash cymbal its complex, cutting, higher-pitched tone.

The Sabian AAX Concept Crash introduces a whole new sound and look for AAX. With deeper, more aggressive hammering working the B20 Bronze metal, the sound is more complex and musical. Thin, with a higher profile than a typical AAX, and a Fast Crash design raw bell, the Concept Crash will rock your world!

Features:

- A whole new sound and look for AAX!
- Higher-pitched than an AAX X-Plosion Crash
- A small, Fast Crash style bell for quick responses
- Aggressive, deeper hammering than typical AAX
- Protected by SABIAN 2-year warranty

First things first: This really is a CC4 (2020) as pictured, not this year's (2021) CC5, so please take note. I checked with zZounds before making my purchase because I'd recently bought 17" and 18" Sabian CC5 Concept Crashes elsewhere on super sale (not available here) and wanted to add something more different sounding to my kit than a 16" CC5. And it's certainly different. The CC5's are very thin with extensive fine lathing, 100% brilliant finishes, and a liquid-glass sound when struck; the CC4 is thicker (comparable to a Zildjian A Custom) with much rougher lathing, an unfinished bell, and more a breaking-glass sound when crashed. I really like it's sound: bright, fast, cutting. And, happily, depending on felt diameter and tightness the sound can be manipulated radically. Bigger, tighter felts make for a very short, sharp crack; smaller, looser felts lead to a very nice shimmery sustain following a much more explosively sharp initial crash. This is a very nice counterpoint to my new CC5's and my 16" and 18" A Customs, and is a second (relative) oddball along with my 18" Paiste RUDE Crash/Ride. Honestly, on super sale (not sure if adding the price is OK; think Black Friday prices) this is a fine cymbal to add to your arsenal. Highly recommended. Oh, and the free two-day shipping only took one day (helpful to be close). Thanks for pestering me with emails, zZounds ;-) .
