What's special about this item?

Feature: What it does:
Korina body Very warm, lively, and balanced tonewood
Blackwood Tek fretboard Same feel, look and sound of rosewood
Hipshot A-style bridge Top-load or through-body stringing
Hipshot Ultralite Tuners Super lightweight and precision tuning stability

The Reverend Mike Watt Signature Wattplower is the result of a four-year exploratory between Watt and Reverend to produce a bass guitar with the perfect balance of sonic explosiveness, supreme playability, and ultimately looks uniquely Watt.

The 30” scale and size along with touches like the Luminlay dots on the side of the neck are perfect for any player used to dark stages and long sets. The bridge is Hipshot A Style Brass for great intonation and lots of sustain. And, because it’s Watt, there’s an anchor inlay at the first fret and “Wattplower” on the seventeenth. This one is worth the wait.

Custom Pickups

Reverend designs their own proprietary custom pickups, to achieve the best tonal match with their instruments. Reverend pickups are also specifically designed for each position, for balanced volume and tone when switching.

Korina Body

Korina (aka White Limba) is a medium-light weight wood, highly prized for consistency and tonal qualities. Often found in boutique and vintage instruments, all Reverends feature Korina bodies. A highly resonant wood, Korina is a key factor to producing our lively, responsive instruments that are rich in harmonics.

Top Hat Knobs

These vintage volume and tone knobs have the numbers right on them, with an extra triangle pointer, so you can see where your settings are all the time.

HipShot Ultralite Tuners

These tuners have a housing made of aircraft grade aluminum that makes them extra-light. The difference in weight read more can be as much as 2-3oz less in the headstock, which means a more balanced bass that’s more comfortable to play. And the tone is great! Your bass is more defined and enhanced with the Hipshot Ultralite's.

HipShot A Style Bridge

This adjustable spacing bridge allows for more sustain and has a string thru or top-load option. Coupled with a Brass bridge spacer, the sustain on this bass is wicked!

Anchor Inlay

The Anchor Inlay at the first fret is a tribute to Mike Watt's father, who was a sailor in the Navy.

Blackwood Tek Fingerboard

Blackwood Tek is a substitute for rosewood, which is now illegal. It's made from Pinus Radiata, a sustainable New Zealand softwood. This softwood is impregnated with an organic resin, then subjected to extreme heat and pressure. The result is a 100% natural wood product that exhibits the feel, look and sound of rosewood, but is more stable and better for the environment!

Love this bass!!! Switched to short scale basses because of hand issues and I wanted to get a good one. I picked the right one!! Plays and sounds great. The finish is beautiful. Love the set neck and the sustain even unplugged is great!! Very light with no neck dive. The neck feels great, pretty shallow front to back which I like,. Again I love this bass!!!

Musical Background:

I’ve been playing in bands since hs. Started on guitar then switched to bass. I currently play out 4 to 6 times a month
