I needed an 8U, slant-face rack box to use on the top of my desk, and really didn't want it carpeted. My choices seemed to be shoddy slapped-together units or expensive furniture-grade units. I came across this one and decided to pull the trigger- and I'm happy I did! The unit is built like a tank and has an attractive finish. There are only two downsides, which are only minor. First, the name tag on the front is huge and slightly distracting. I was afraid to try to remove it out of fear that I would damage the finish under it. Second, the floor of the unit is raised (instead of being on the bottom of the box). This means that your bottom-most piece of gear is limited in depth due to the slant-face mounting it at an angle. I typically like to put the heaviest stuff at the bottom, but you can't really go any deeper than the depth of a dbx 266sx on the bottom-most mounting position. It's not exactly a deal killer, but it's something to be aware of. The quality construction makes up for these two small gripes though, and I will definitely buy from this manufacturer again.

Sound
It's a rack enclosure, so it doesn't have any effect on the sound. I would recommend a smaller name plate and/or letting the purchaser decide if they want the name plate mounted at all.

Features
As I mentioned in my main review, the floor is raised on this unit, so the bottom-most space is a bit depth-challenged. A dbx 266sx fits down there just read more fine, but a Tascam CD200i (as well as most amps) would have to be mounted 1U higher.

Ease of Use
Ease of use- well, it's a rack mount enclosure. You screw in your components and you're done. The item does come fully assembled though. Take it out of the box and rack up!

Quality
Is it made well? Does it seem like it will last? Well, It survived our FedEx guy without a scratch, and that guy is brutal. It's a studio rack case, not a touring case- it's well built for the intended use and should last dang near forever in that setting.

Value
The price is in line for similar products on the market, but where they shine is in offering an attractive non-carpeted version that they don't charge you furniture-grade prices for.

Manufacturer Support
I didn't have to deal with the manufacturer at all, but I did check out their website. Website was well-put together and they even have a service for custom boxes, which I'll probably be using in a few months. They generally have positive reviews all over the web from those who have had to contact them.

The Wow Factor
As I mentioned before- an affordable non-carpeted solution is what drew me in. Could I have used a carpeted version to the same effect? Sure. But it wasn't what I wanted.
