A large 4.3-inch vivid full-color screen is the brilliant focal point of this unit, providing real-time visual feedback of your tracks. Full track information including Title, Time, BPM, and Pitch are clearly displayed alongside the precise full-size waveform window. You'll appreciate the additional visual feedback for Slip Mode, Hot Cues and active Loops meaning you can confidently use scratches or hot cues without ruining your mix. The 100mm pitch fader ranges pitch from 4% to 100%; you'll mix with surgical precision.

The Gemini MDJ-500's intuitive interface will have you spending less time learning and free up precious time for you to experiment with the 4 Hot Cues, 8 Auto Loops, and the 5-inch touch-sensitive jog wheel with LCD display and resistance control to Slip and Scratch. Bonus MIDI capabilities mean you can even control the parameters of your favorite DJ software directly from the unit, routing your audio through its 24-bit/192kHz soundcard. This unit works well for basic audio playback, looping and Cueing. The time-stretch with pitch lock is a nice feature and fun to play with. You can bring your audio down to granular levels with the time stretch, it is a cool tool to create unique and strange sounds from your existing MP3 library. Multiple loop points come in handy for doing live remixes. Pros: Bright and clean screen with waveform and informationEasy looping and cueing Comfortable platterHigh USB compatibility & fast (instant) load timesCons: Occasionally the BPM detect isn’t spot-on, but can be easily adjustedLong boot-up time (?)I’ve had it freak out once; playing an MP3 at super high speed on its own when no audio was playingI purchased this deck to add simple scratching to my mixes and tracks, it is surprisingly decent at this. I’m sure a more expensive deck would provide more realistic scratching but for the price, I’m keeping this thing. It is a fun beginner deck with some easy-to-use and functional extra features.
