For players who want the style and sound of the golden era, Fender created the Vintera ‘60s Jazz Bass. Equipped with the coveted features that defined the decade -- including period-accurate neck profile and playing feel, along with recreated ‘60s pickups -- this bass has all of the growl that made the J Bass famous.

For authentic, original-era tone, Fender re-voiced the pair of single-coil Jazz Bass pickups to sound more like the originals. Gritty and growling, they have the tone that made the J Bass popular. The "Mid '60s C"-shaped neck has a 7.25"-radius fingerboard with 20 vintage-style frets for classic playing feel. A vintage-style, 4-saddle bridge with threaded saddles and reverse, open-gear tuning machines provide original-era aesthetics, rock-solid performance and tuning stability. Other features include 34" scale length, chrome hardware and 4-bolt neck plate. Includes a deluxe gig bag.

"My Perfect Bass"

I am a 54 year old bass player. Ive been playing bass for a little over 40 years and in that time ive owned 11 different basses including ibanez blazer, Fender Jazz (american), Sting Ray Fretless --- and none of them fit me as well as this Fender Vintera Jazz. I also have to give a huge thanks for zZounds for making it possible for me to have an instrument of this quality. The payment plans they offer are unbelievable and the customer service is hands down the best i have ever experienced -- it definitely helps to have actual playing musicians on staff. I did have to return the first one they sent due to it having an extremely warped neck that could not be corrected by the truss rod -- but the second one i received (i did not have to pay for any of the shipping) was perfect! I cannot say enough good things about the instrument or my experience with zZounds.
