Christ Catero of the band Razer reviews the Epiphone Embassy PRO Bass:

Modern Vintage

The original Epiphone Embassy was introduced in 1963, the same year as the legendary Thunderbird, and became Epiphone's premier solid-body electric bass. The Embassy PRO Bass combines the best of the Embassy's classic features with some key design improvements. The Mahogany body now has a slightly longer upper "horn" for great balance and the glued-in Mahogany neck comes with a two-way adjustable truss rod for perfect set-up. The neck has a 1960's SlimTaperTM-D profile, a Pau Ferro fingerboard with pearloid "Dot" inlays, a 34" scale length, a 12" radius, and 22 medium jumbo frets. The Antique Ivory color finish comes with a black/white pickguard while the Dark Cherry and Ebony finishes have a white/black pickguard. The classic Epiphone Sloped Dove wing headstock has a 60s era pearloid "Epiphone" logo as well as a "2017" commemorative logo on the back of the headstock.

ProBucker Bass Pickups

The Embassy PRO Bass is powered by Epiphone's critically acclaimed ProBucker #760 Bass Pickups which are made with the same attention to detail read more as the ProBucker and P-90 PRO guitar pickups. Epiphone has also recreated the original Epiphone "Barrel" knobs with metal inserts for Master Volume, Blend, and Master Tone controls.

Rock Solid Hardware

The Embassy PRO Bass now includes a modern adjustable Tune-o-matic bridge and a 60s styled "Claw" tailpiece along with a "barrel style" 1/4" rim-mounted output jack. The overall balance of the Embassy is also improved by 2-to-a-side Premium Die-Cast Bass machine heads with a super pro 17:1 tuning ratio.

The truss rod had been really cranked on this thing and it was unplayable as was so 'i loosened the truss rod quite a bit and over about a period of a week 'i got the thing playing nice, the bass looks good and plays good but the sound is killer. I own approx 10 other basses all much more expensive American made basses such as Fenders, Rickenbacker and Gibsons and this bass sounds just as good if not better than most of them, there are no dead spots on the neck, you get a good resonant fundamental all the way up and down. This bass has a growl to it that just cuts right through, I have gotten many compliments on it's sound, two of them being that it growls (and it does) and that it's very articulate which it is. I also bought the matching hard shell case for it, (no gig bags for this guy). I'm very happy with it and highly recommend them if you don't mind doing a little set up yourself. This bass is a keeper. Fit and finish are very good, the neck is a substantial deep D shape not like a T-Bird at all, also it felt like a medium scale bass but is long scale, a friend asked the same thing, that friend is thinking of getting one he liked it so much in fact, if you like slim thin necks it may not be for you but it just sounds so damn good you might want one anyway and you can't beat the price. It sounds great with both pickups full on also the neck full on and anywhere in between, with the bridge alone you can get a throaty jazzy sound which I don't really use much. This is an excellent read more rock bass, it can also thump if you put a little rolled up cloth under the strings between the bridge pickup and the bridge, so it's pretty versatile. Also it's very light with no neck dive at all, very comfortable bass. All in all I'm very happy with this bass and it is a keeper. Do it!
