I've been using the original Digitone for about a year and love it. It's 4 tracks have now been increased to 16 tracks in the Digitone II. That's amazing. I encountered a learning curve on Elektron devices for myself when I started, but once I got it, I got it. Lots of tutorials on YouTube. The manual is a fairly easy read. I bought the OG Digitone and Syntakt used. I love both of them. The new Digitone II has so many improvements over the original that it is like experiencing a new device. The Digitone II is worth every dollar. 16 voice polyphony is crazy good. The 128 step sequencer is very powerful and allows getting into the flow of music making a breeze. Full songs can be created on this somewhat small package. I love Elektron and the Digitone II.

The sounds that come out of this box are just crazy.

Ease of Use
I encountered a learning curve with Elektron boxes. But after reading the manual and watching some tutorials, I was able to make some patterns from scratch. I'm totally new to electronic music. But after some time integrating the device's controls into my psychi, I was able to do more than I expected.

Quality
I purchased the original Digitone and Syntakt used about 2 years ago. It has been said that if you learn one Elektron device you can play the others. I've found this to be true. Reading the manual is a must. Also watching tutorials on YouTube helps to get over the… read more learning hump.

Value
The price of $1000 is worth it. The Elektron sequencer is very powerful. The sound sculpting possibilities are extensive. You could put on a show with just the Digitone II. Plus, it's just good to learn a piece of gear.

The Wow Factor
It makes DAWless music creation an enjoyable experience. But you can integrate the Digitone II into your favorite DAW if you like.
