Author Bio

I was born in Detroit and grew up in southeast Michigan. As a kid in the '90s, my sister and I loved to listen to our parents’ old records through an old jukebox which was my father’s prized possession. He had a massive collection of 45 singles, including a ton of deep cuts from the early days of Motown. That was my first exposure to music. It wasn’t until high school in the early 2000s when I picked up an instrument. At that time, there was a very active indie / garage rock revival in Detroit that included the White Stripes, The Von Bondies, The Detroit Cobras, The Greenhornes, The Sights, and many other great bands. I became obsessed with going to shows and seeing live music and it wasn’t long before I picked up the guitar and started my own band. Many years have passed since. In that time I have played countless shows at locals bars, I’ve toured, I’ve recorded a dozen records, and I’ve been in many different bands. Along the way I also accumulated an embarrassing amount of gear. I’ve had dozens of amps, dozens of guitars, hundreds of pedals, PA gear, drums, you name it. My greatest passions gear-wise are small tube amps and effects pedals. I love collecting gear and learning about the history of it.
