Music has always been an important part of my life. When I was about 5 my dad brought home an old electric organ he picked up off the street. I loved figuring out simple melodies and playing with different sounds. I got my first guitar on my 11th birthday, and also joined my school band as a percussionist. In my teens and early 20s I played in several touring bands as a vocalist, guitarist, and occasional keyboard player. During this time, I performed at Chicago venues like The House of Blues and Metro, did live in-studio performances at Chicago's Q101 radio station and multiple summers at SXSW and the Vans Warped Tour. After a five-year stretch of several hundred shows, I began to shift my focus toward production. After so many years in different bands, I had developed skills in graphic design and video and audio production. I did everything from designing T-shirts, flyers, and album artwork, to shooting videos and recording demos. I started to take on freelance projects working with local bands before finding a full-time home creating content here at zZounds.
