BB Pro Series

BB Pro Series
At the top of Yamaha's BB family is the Japanese-made Pro Series. These basses feature Yamaha's YGD Custom V7 pickups for beefy tone to complement the bass's alder/maple/alder body. That tone can be sculpted to your liking via the active/passive switchable electronics. And if you like switching between active and passive tones in the middle of your set, Yamaha has you covered with level-matched outputs, so your volume stays consistent.

Veteran players know that a brand-new bass doesn't always feel the same as a broken-in one. Yamaha takes care of this with Initial Response Acceleration (IRA) technology. This process exposes the BB Pro basses to specific vibrations to release stresses for a "played-in" feel from the moment you first try the bass.

BB 700 Series

BB 700 Series
For the bassist who needs a truly versatile instrument, the BB 700 Series is a worthy choice. Outfitted with a switchable active/passive circuit and alnico Yamaha YGD Custom V7 pickups, basses in this series have a tone that's naturally full and clear and can be sculpted to cut through any mix when needed.

There's a lot of technology incorporated into a BB700's neck as well. The 5-piece maple and mahogany neck resists warping and makes for a present, sharp attack. Likewise, the innovative 6-bolt Miter neck joint forms a tight bond to the body and enhances the bass' string vibration transfer and sustain.
