Adam Audio T Series Monitors

Extremely Accurate. Surprisingly Affordable.

For decades, Adam Audio has been making some of the finest, most accurate studio monitors available. From their studio-staple A Series and AX Series, to their top-of-the-line S Series monitors, they've earned the trust of producers and engineers worldwide.

Musician/sound designer Kevin Droese explains how he uses Adam T7V monitors:

Electro producer Grid Division on the Adam T5V monitors:
With the T Series, Adam is bringing their speaker-building prowess to a more affordable price point -- starting at under $400 a pair. These monitors allow those just starting to build a home studio to experience Adam precision, with features that will also be familiar to longtime devotees. Learn more about these monitors in our Spotlight guide!

U-ART Tweeters

Adam Audio T Series Monitors
Although the ribbon tweeters on the T Series monitors will be a familiar sight to Adam fans, the U-ART ribbon tweeter was developed specifically for the T Series. Made of a polymide film, these pleated tweeters respond to audio signals by drawing air into the folds, and then expelling air out through them. It's a process that's completely different from typical piston-based tweeters -- and has come to distinguish Adam Audio's airy quality. You'll be able to hear every detail in the high end, with these monitors reproducing up to 25 kHz. Good luck finding other monitors in this price range that will deliver the goods up here!

HPS Waveguide

Adam Audio T Series Monitors
Adam's T Series borrows the core principles of the HPS (high-frequency propagation system) waveguide seen in their flagship S Series monitors. As brilliant as the ribbon tweeters sound, they need an intelligently designed waveguide to deliver consistent sound throughout the listening environment. The HPS waveguide found in the T Series works to minimize the coloration caused by any unwanted sonic reflections from items in the room, and helps to widen the "sweet spot" these speakers yield.

Fine-tune your T Series speaker's output with the rear panel controls. Both models feature +/-2 dB boost/cut for the low and high frequencies, and up to -60 to 18 dB control over your gain -- plenty of flexibility to suit most any home studio.

Adam T5V vs. T7V: Which is Right for You?

Adam Audio T Series Monitors
Both the T5V and T7V monitors feature the same U-ART tweeters, HPS waveguides, I/O section, high- and low-frequency cut/boost controls and beveled design, so what are the main differences between the two?

Woofer size is the big one. The T5V features a 5" woofer and the T7V has a 7" woofer. These woofers are responsible for reproducing mid-frequency and low-end sounds, and in most scenarios, a larger woofer is better equipped for putting out low frequencies efficiently, especially if you're pushing your speakers hard. If you're mixing in a smaller space, and you'll be sitting within arm's reach of your monitors, the T5V monitors will serve you well. If your studio space is a bit larger, and you (and your collaborators) will be listening from a bit farther away, the T7V is a great choice.

That being said, the other main difference is in price. If you're just getting into mixing, or simply want to use these speakers to listen to your music collection, the T5V monitors can handle all of that brilliantly and you'll save $100 buying a pair of them instead of the T7V monitors. In the end, you can't go wrong with either!

Need a Sub?

Adam Audio Subwoofers
You'll find that the T-Series woofers do a very nice job with the low end of your mix on their own, but if you really want to hear the full range of your project, consider pairing your monitors with an Adam subwoofer! A dedicated speaker for sub-bass frequencies will help you hear exactly what's going on in your mix, so it'll sound as you intend when it's played back in that big club PA system, home theater, or car stereo.

The Adam Sub7 and Sub8 are both great companions for T Series monitors. Choose the Sub7 for its space-saving design, or go with the larger Sub8 for lows that get down to 28 Hz!
