"Great Mastering Effects!"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars

I gave it a 10, even though it doesn't have a optical input. But, overall i love it.
Sound
The effects have a good sound, but,I bought the pfx-2200 for the Final Mastering banks & let me tell you it's worth more than $199 just for this effect alone. Also it add a clean punchy sound to the bass guitar. To me the only down side to the pfx2200 is i wish they would have put an opitical in.
Features
The Final mastering effects are great!!
Ease of Use
Easy to use. But, i would read the manual before using it. The manaul has charts for each bank, this is real helpful, especial for the 4 edit knobs.
Quality
Built to last, knobs/buttons feel good. I have the zoom 512 effect unit for about 20 years. I don't use it anymore , but, it still works. Do i need to say anymore about zoom quality.
Value
It's worth every penny.
Manufacturer Support
Never had too.
The Wow Factor
it's doesn't matter how it looks to me, it's how it sounds.

For my musical applications,I've got a friend for life.
Sound
I believe this product to be unparalled in sound quality for the price range. I needed to upgrade from the effects in my Peavey mixer and the Zoom far exceeded my expectations...this beauty is ideal for on-the-fly effects implementation! This processor is openly expressive & inspiring, giving you a stunning amount of versatile reverbs,multi-effects and special effects. I work strictly with hardware gear in my studio and the layout of all the manual controls are a very integral part of what I do,making the Zoom RFX 2200 the most desirable effects processor out there for the money!
Features
I have not used it yet,but the footswitch control for effects bypass will prove to be very useful to me. The most obvious usefullness,is of course, all of the manual controls on the face of the unit. Phantom power for the microphone input would have been very useful to me,as well as a lcd display screen, but for a very modest price tag,I'm not complaining.
Ease of Use
Incredible,out-of-the-box,user friendliness...only need the manual as a referance point to precisly navigate through the massive amount of functions in this beast.
Quality
The tactile aspect of this unit is a dream...smooth,solid controls & it seems to be built like a tank. I've only had it for about 24 hours,so all I can say at this point,is that I strongly predict that is will be reliable in the future. I believe this product would be ideal for the road,as it's compact, with great manual controls.
Value
Best value on the market at this price point.
The Wow Factor
Great layout,easy to read-very sexy.

"Very versatile studio-processor with lots of unique features."

The Zoom RFX-2200 is to be a very good buy and i reccommend it to people who are looking for a one-in-all studio-processor. It has all the high-quality reverbs you need plus all the ol' normal effects such as delays, chorus, flanger, phaser plus the more rare effects ring-mod, isolator and pitch-delay. What makes it so original and versatile is all the other effecs unique to Zoom and the mastering-features. Very well done this time Zoom! I'll keep it for a long time.
Sound
I really cant find any complaints on the sound. 24-bit internal processing at 44,1khz and 20-bit AD/DA-converters. The reverbs are absolutely stunning, I'd buy the unit for the reverbs alone. The other effects are of pristine quality too.
Features
The unit has lots of features that other processors dont have, like some cool effects called time-trip and step cry, aswell as a ring modulator and a 3 band isolator. The unit also works well as a mastering-processor because if you install the RFX2000ED software (dl from www.zoom.jp.co) and hook the unit up with MIDI it has (!!! listen up) a multi-band compressor, 31 band graphic eq + 5 band parametric eq AND a up to 20 tap delay which each individual TAP can have its time set! (That means that you can create a rhythmic delay pattern of 20 individual taps..) All these last mentioned effects can only be accesed with the RFX2000ED software, so GET IT if you have a RFX-2200 or RFX-2000. The mic input in the front is probably convenient for live use, but i use it in my studio so i dont really use it. 4 parameters effect can be edited. Tap button for delay-time setting. Digital output with both optical and coaxial connections. Only reason i gave it a 9 here is because i lack a digital input.. that would be nice. And the display could have been a little more advanced.
Quality
The finish is smooth and everything seems of high quality. I havent noticed any bugs in its software yet. The knobs are silky and light. The input level-meter seems to be a little over-feeded, cause the clip LED lights up when the sound doesnt really clip, so 0 dB on the meter is more like -3 dB of sound. Not a big flaw though.
Value
The Price/Features ratio for this unit is great. You get lots of features I didnt even knew it had before i downloaded the software. Definitely worth the 250$ i spent on it.
Manufacturer Support
I contacted them about their RFX2000ED software, they replied quickly and gave me a precise answer. They seemed nice. Their website is pretty OK and the manual is very good.
The Wow Factor
Looks sexy? The unit hides much under its trunk that u might not think at first sight. The all-red LEDs might be scary to someone, they could have had atleast one green led :P But its sexxy though. (btw, the input-level meter has green leds ofcourse.)
