This was an upgrade from an H4$-N, and well worth the additional price. I haven't used the two included mikes, but have used the machine to transfer many reel to reel tapes. Here, the individual level controls for each channel, as well as an improved display are very welcome. No problems with the recorded sound, given a good source and if you don't push the levels too high.Altogether a very satisfactory experience. The recorder was shipped quickly, and arrived in good conditions. I apparently can't complete this review without rating "manufacturer support," so I give it a five based on a service experience with the older H4-N.

Cant brag enough about my Zoom H6. Ive used it on 4 or 5 interviews and film shoots and it makes audio recording a breeze. I give the product a 9 out of 10. The only thing I dont like is when using the shotgun mic attachment on a boom pole, you lose sight of your level meters. If they could produce a cable that could connect to the shotgun mic on one end and the H6 body on the other, this would allow for the mic to be on a boom and H6 body to be easily monitored and adjusted. I was also happy to receive the shotgun mic and find that it comes with a free hairy windscreen.
