Being that sound is subjective makes describing it very difficult but here is my take on these. This particular box set truly makes sense. They compliment each other in a way that many others do not and that 21" ride is one of the best sounding rides I have ever heard . Simply put , many box sets are mismatched with one crash cymbal ringing forever and the other decaying almost instantly. As if they throw a bunch of different size cymbals in a box and say here you go . Not these ! This set is perfectly balanced . The 17" and 19" crashes match perfectly together and have just enough decay when struck and can be ridden moderately without washing out . Both also have a great bell. They can cut through just about anything , never being offensively loud or too bright. The 14" hi hats have to be played to really appreciate them . Beautiful , articulate sound when closed and playing with dynamics , crisp " chick " on the foot and wonderful steady wash when opened up . The 10" splash is a nice little addition and sounds , well , like a splash should sound . A lot of cut and quick decay without that " cheap " metallic sound. Back to that ride. Oh that ride ! I have played some rides in my time and this is the one I have been searching for . I have known about it but never played one . It does not get lost or impose when playing live or in the studio. Sweet bow with just the right amount of ping , is a beast when crashed and such a beautiful bell tone . Absolutely perfect. I should have bought one 10 years ago when it was released. Additionally , all of these cymbals have a gorgeous brilliant finish on them and look amazing under the lights. I know they are a tad expensive but once you play them you understand what a bargain they really are . You could spend a lot of time and more $$ trying to put together a set like this individually and never hit the mark. Save yourself the trouble and get this box set ! Zildjian has put it out of the ballpark with these . zZounds has great payment plans to budget around . Also, they sent me a Zildjian T-Shirt , a Drum Tech Kit and a 22" Deluxe Zildjian Cymbal Bag all for free !! I thought it only came with a free t-shirt and they gave me all this extra stuff ! Thank you zZounds for making my day ! I have been a loyal customer for several years now and they are the best at getting the gear you need in your hands fast ! Without all the credit checks and other hoops the competition makes you jump through !

Ordered the a custom mastersound pack with the 18" china, this set is awesome. The hats have the perfect sound, the crashes have a perfect sound with not too much lingering resonance, the ride is perfect, the splash is the perfect compliment to the set, and the crash is the perfect sound i was looking for. In one word, this set is "perfect"!!!!!

I have tried all types of cymbals. And these are the best I've played. Let me start by saying they look amazing. The high hats are the best sounding I've ever heard. A distinct chick, and the perfect amount of slosh. The crashes come alive, not to explosive, just the right amount of shimmer and decay. My only issue with the crashes is, my set came with 17" and 19" crashes so they can be a little to loud and take to long to decay. But I'm going to get a matching 14" to take care of it. The 10" splash is bright and quick. The 21" ride was my least favorite at first. Because of the size it took a bit to get it rolling. I switched to a heavier tipped stick and it came alive. Now it's my favorite of the pack. The bell has the best ping and the wash doesn't overpower stick articulation. I opted for the 18" China and by itself it sounds great. But when played in a band setting it is perfectly trashy.

This is an amazing collection of Zildjian cymbals. I was considering this or the K Dark pack. After some debate I opted for these A Customs. They just sound great. I wanted that brighter sound they deliver. I especially appreciate the sizes of the crash cymbals. Instead of the normal 16" and 18" this set has a 17" and 19" which I feel projects their sound over the music I play. Overall I'm just a Zildjian man so maybe I'm a bit of a "fanboy" but they never let me down so I'll stick with them. Lastly, thank you to zZounds customer service. I like to call in my orders and they make it easy to order. Also very quick shipping here in my area. Thanks zZounds!

As a 35+ year Paiste lover I was skeptical at first buying this cymbal pack not having heard them in person but I was curious about these cymbals so took a chance. I do not regret it one bit! While they have some similarities to my Paiste Signature Series cymbals they were a bit let bright which really came in handy for some of the lower volume venues I sometimes perform at. They also work very well for louder venues as well as the mic up quite well. It's nice to have an alternative and would highly recommend these cymbals.
