I have one of the first SLG 100's made, and boy, was I disappointed. Weak sound, uneven balance, but good workmanship and playability. So, imagine my surprise when I started to see top pros playing the SLG 130NW on jazz gigs and in magazines like Just Jazz Guitar. I decided to buy a new one from Zzounds hoping that the original problems were fixed. Boy, were they ever! This instrument is gorgeous to look at, is easily portable, and CAN BE USED TO PERFORM! This new model has an ebony fretboard measuring a full 2" at the nut, an output signal that'll knock your socks off, and a finish to die for. I am hard to please, having played classical guitar for 45 years. I've tried stick-on pickups, solid body electric classicals, not to mention some VERY expensive electic/acoustic guitars - but the SLG 130NW is my new favorite. I resisted for four years, but I'm sure glad I took the chance. You will be, too. WOW!

Musical Background:

I've played for 52 years, have a Master's in classical guitar, and also play acoustic jazz.

Musical Style:

Classical and Jazz.

My new SLG130NW got delivered today. It was delivered fast, and in perfect condition. Double boxed around the guitar in it's gig bag. First thing I noticed when I took it out, was how good it looked. Fit and finish looked very nice, and good quality. But once I tuned it up, plugged it in, and started strumming, I realized that I had made a good purchase. It plays, and sounds great!! I can get a wide range of sounds and tones out of this incredible instrument. Now that I have the classical guitar, I plan on buying the steel string, newer version next. This guitar is a keeper! I travel extensively for a living, and I plan to take this with me everywhere.

Musical Background:

Playing for hobby/fun for 40 years. I have many Fender Strats, several acoustics, and a Les Paul Custom. Mostly I play at home

Musical Style:

Blues, rock, classical
