I'll never sell it. If was stolen, I'd immediately buy another one!
Sound
This particular model is absolutely fantastic! With a sound that is very deep and vibrant. Its almost unfair to be able to buy such a great sounding guitar for so little. I'm a seasoned pro, toured and recorded with a handful of Grammy winners. And I'm very picky, but not so wealthy anymore. So, I needed a serious bargain on an oustanding instrument.
Ease of Use
I lowered the action by grinding the bridge sadle down about 2mm, then tightened the truss rod about 1/3 turn. I used a little vasoline on the nut to smooth the tuning and walla! This guitar would difinitely hold its own in a contest against just about anything short of a $3,000+ Gibson or Taylor. Actually, I have a suspicion that in a blind challenge it may even rise above the super-priced brand-names, just so long as you set it up with my easy little mod that I just shared with you here.
Quality
I'm excited to see how much better the tone will be as the wood ages. I wouldn't change a thing.
Value
Oh my! It's just plain silly to consider anything else in this price range. Unless you're more concerned about something aesthetic. I only say this because this guitar might be somewhat plain in appearance, but everything else about this guitar is superior to other acoustics in its price range.
Manufacturer Support
ZZounds offers incredible support. I have no idea in regards to Yamaha, but I seriously doubt that I'll need to contact them for anything.

I love the sound. I got this guitar in two days. Right out of the box the setup was great ! I did my own little personal adjustments, and you couldn't ask for a better quality guitar. I think this guitar is the very best for the money. Check it out, you will not be disappointed.

I bought a Yamaha acoustic guitar at the recommendation of a friend from zZounds. I am new to music (can't play a lick) but decided that I wanted to learn the guitar. It's something I always wanted to do. Well, I needed a guitar for my lessons and my friend said this site was the best place to get a good guitar for a good price. I found what a needed quickly, the price was reasonable, and it came so quickly, I was surprised. The guitar is beautiful (although my playing is not there yet) and I am completely satisfied. Thank you zZounds!

This guitar is hands down the best solid top guitar in it's price range. The Yamaha dreadnought has such wonderful tone, deep bass and crisp bright highs! The guitar has a solid top, beautifully manufactured, and it's a Yamaha. I had my guitar set up proffessionally, which I recommend, and it plays beautifully! I can't be happier.

I wanted a cheap guitar to play outside and to carry with me when I travel. I don't feel comfortable with my Martins out and about for obvious reasons. After doing some research online I decided to pull the plug on the FG730S and give it a tryout. For under $300 I wasn't expecting a lot, but the reviews were pretty good on this guitar across the board. The guitar arrived the other day and not only was I not disappointed, I was very surprised at the quality of the craftsmanship in this guitar. The neck joint, top, binding, fretwork, and everything is almost flawless. The neck is comfortable albeit a little bit narrow. But not too narrow, just a bit more narrow than my Martins. The sound is a bit bright with subdued mids and lows, but I think that it will mellow out a bit with time since it is a quality solid tone wood guitar. Also, the woods in this instrument are beautiful. How Yamaha builds a solid tonewood acoustic with binding at this price point is beyond me. I'm almost afraid to take this one on the road and outside.

I've been playing since 1982. I play to soothe my soul.

I love my Yamaha FG730s 2011 (no longer available new). She’s a beauty. I retro’s Evo gold frets and gold Grover tuners. Then a bone saddle (lowered the action). I use Martin 4100 light strings or Daddario light) I’ll never part with her and I play her almost daily. (Out of 8 guitars). I rate her with anything under $2K She’s a treasure

This guitar is a $500 to $600 guitar disguised as a $300 guitar. It doesn't take long to figure out just by the feel of this guitar that it is more than just an intermediate instrument.. The look and the sound of the FG730s will please just about anybody for the price paid. No need for any major adjustment right out of the box. Just tune it and have fun. My only small complaint would be the tuners. I have Grovers on order from Amazon.

"Nice guitar. Nice price."

Overall: 4 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I have been playing for 37 years. But I have never stopped for long. I cannot put down a guitar for long. Of course I have top shelf instruments..but I play this a lot!
Sound
I'm impressed but it is after all an intermediate guitar. But it just happen to be a nice sounding one. The tuners are useless. Put new tuners on for best results. In fact, put a bone saddle in the bridge and on the neck as well, for best result. Ok, now if you installed those correctly(you may need help with that)your done. It should sound pretty good. So after that, I might give it a 8+ or even a 9, for the money.
Features
The tuners are not any good. Great with new ones though. If you don't know how to tune a guitar a guitar correctly, you will not understand me here! The plastic saddles sound dull. But this guitar can be very cool for the money, if you know what mods to do..
Ease of Use
I found it easy to play, immediately.
Quality
For the money....this is a very good deal!
Value
Very good deal.
Manufacturer Support
Never used it, or needed it yet. Its 3 months old so, so far, so good.
The Wow Factor
