Being a novice drum player Vic Firth is all I've ever purchased. Unfortunately, I had no idea about ZZ Sounds! therefore I'm quite sure I've been overpaying!Hard for me to tell you how long they will last a professional drummer? All I know is they're perfect for me. They feel well balanced within my grip, and I've had success with both the 5A and 5B. Please keep in mind as a novice drummer I'm pretty hard on the sticks especially when I miss the skins, and actually hit the side of the snare or toms!! Sticks are nicked on the very outside of both sets, but still work fine! Bottom line is price, & durability make these an easy option for me.
