This is my favourite production pedal. (My other favourite is a handmade treble booster) The Nova already has pride of place on my pedal board and it will remain there. It's that good!
Sound
I use treble boosters to overdrive my amps and I have had many problems in the past with modulation effects which sound terrible when used with boosters/overdrive/distortion. Enter the TC Electronic NM-1 Nova Modulator! No such problems here. The sounds remain lush and anyone seeking a Brian May style sound should check out the phaser setting.
Features
Features galore! T.C. have really tried to think of everything here. The dual engine is inspired and basically gives you two pedals the same. You can have them running different settings or combined to produce an extra lush version of your desired setting. You can control the tempo of the modulation to suit your song and you can zero the modulation to start with the footswitch, so you know it will be in perfect time with the track.
Ease of Use
Surprisingly easy, straight out of the box. The effects are nearly all designed to sound great with the controls all set to 12 o'clock, so you just plug it in and shift through the effects to get an ear for them all before you start to mess around with the controls. The manual is definately worth reading as it is pretty straightforward.
Quality
Bomb proof!
Value
Sure, its expensive, but you will never need to by another modulation pedal again. Period!
Manufacturer Support
Have to go neutral here as I have had no dealings with the company.
The Wow Factor
I think this baby will cause ripples in professional music circles and when the pros all have something, we all want it too. This is the best money can buy and compared to some other "signature" pedals and the like, it's way, way better.
