I ordered my GS8 on Saturday, so it didn't ship until Monday, and it arrived Tuesday! Great fast shipping. I ripped open the package, pulled out the case and opened it, then out came the guitar.. simple, yet elegantly designed guitar as far as aesthetics go. I was eager to play it, but wasn't touching a single string until I was situated and comfortable because I wanted it to make a good first impression - I got comfortable looked over the entire guitar, heart started racing a little, I got ready to start playing... strummed.... aaannnd completely out of tune. Quite disappointing to say the least. I tuned her up to D, A#, G, D, G, D# to play 'Memories' by Tobias Rauscher and then I was convinced I had made the right choice. Notes rang out like angels singing. The thumb slap even sounded better somehow, like the guitar was designed for everything I threw at it. Mine is only a 2012 model, so it has a lot of time to ''open up'', but even just being a year old it is wonderful. I think I might put a lighter gauge string on, I play fingerstyle more than I strum, and the strings are pretty tough on my fingers. If you have the money, go for it! I was lucky and got the 'pay as you play' 12 month installment plan. I will probably stick with Taylor's from now on, was a Martin player but Taylor's are just... Taylor's. ;)

Musical Background:

Playing on and off for four years, am only 18 and plan on spending the next 10 years on the guitar and making something of it.

Musical Style:

Classical, slap, soloist..
