Having been an owner/steward of several different makes of guitars, I'm reasonably comfortable in stating this will be the last acoustic guitar I ever have to buy. What an incredible instrument. The fit, finish, construction and material is top-of-the-line. It arrived from zZounds in perfect shape...no set-up needed. The only thing I didn't care for (and this is a subjective thing involving personal taste) were the Elixer Strings that came with the guitar. Being old-school, while treated strings may last longer, they just don't resonate like untreated strings. I've already gone through a half-dozen different brands trying to settle in on a sound. So far (interestingly enough) a set of Martin SP .11 gauge 80/20 strings sound the best. I guess that's my point. No matter how well made and beautiful this guitar is, if it didn't sound righteous across the sound spectrum, then what's the point of spending $3,000.00? Unlike the 210ce which excelled at the high end of tonality, this baby has it all. The lows are low, the mids are not washed out and the highs are high. The ES system sounds like aural warmth. This is a keeper. Just like my other Taylor guitars, I only expect the sound to get better as it gets broken in and loses it's cherry. The action is fantastic and is a wonderful instrument to rock and worship with. That it's made in the USA is cabbage on the corned beef. I fell in love with this ax in a Guitar Center showroom. zZounds made ownership of this guitar possible with their payment plans. One suggestion, it's high time Taylor figured a way to incorporate a low profile on board tuner. Excelsior!
