"This is an excellent first drum kit. I bought it 6 months ago and i have had great times since. i learned to play on these drums"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
it is great. you can play it loud or quiet. great with a band.
Sound
the mid tom could doesnt have as much sustain as the high and floor tom but overal everything else is great. excellent snare drum. i have sabian hihats, crash, and 2 rides but im upgrading to Paistes soon. great drum kit.
Features
the kit included a cowbell if thats what you mean by accessories. the only thing i wish it had was a double kick pedal.
Quality
ive only had to replace one skin (the floor tom) because it wasnt a remo pinstripe like the other toms. the tama skins arent as long lasting as pinstripe.
Value
i bought this kit second hand for $850 NZ dollars which is great value.
Manufacturer Support
i havent had any communication with Tama about my kit just a local music shop for a skin.
The Wow Factor
i have a black tama rockstar DX. the black is not the nicest colour, i would of liked gun metal metellic.

Sound
Once you replace the heads, the toms sound pretty nice! Lots of good tone. I think that the stock kick batter head is pretty good though.
Features
I love the starcast mounting system! Makes everything easy to break down and set up again.
Quality
I like the set overall, but I think the kick pedal is kind of a piece of junk. Not bad for a beginner, but I plan to upgrade my pedal ASAP.
Value
I bought a blem one on ZZounds. What a deal!

"Talk about VALUE!!!"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I dont plan on letting these drums go, but if i do... i think that the only brand that will make me forget my wonderful rockstar would be a DW... LOL
Sound
With Evans BD22EMAD head on the bass drum, and remo pinstripes on the batter toms... These drums sound like a million bucks (in comparison to the low $600-750 price range)... Although these drums aren't maple... with those heads on them, they sure as hell will fool anyone during performance...
Features
With my set I had tama iron cobra double bass pedal wich are great smooth pedals... the hi hat stad these drums come with are phenominal (but i would recomend getting the HH75W stand)... The starcast mounts are excelent on these drums and they give the drums a hi end professional look... especially racked on a gibraltar rack... (yes, my 7 piece rockstar is racked...)
Quality
what can i say??? i dropped the 10" tom off my explorer and the tom was perfectly fine... other then a few un-noticable scratches...
Value
these drums are well worth over the sticker price...
Manufacturer Support
i have never spoken with tama themselves...
The Wow Factor
this set looks beautiful... expecially racked and with 6 A Custom cymbals all over... (yupp... just like mine...)

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars

Quality
First set had bubbles in wrap and hardware was rusty. Tama sent new set and quality was great.
Manufacturer Support
Had to fight a little on first set warranty.

"there is nothing enjoyable about owning this kit. Trying to tune the super high pitched over tones out and the ringy pingy soun"

Overall: 1.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
there is nothing enjoyable about owning this kit. Trying to tune the super high pitched over tones out and the ringy pingy sounds makes this kit a real pain in the a$$
Sound
sound is too "pingy" even using remo pins and aquarian double thin heads. Good starter/intermediate kit but it will never compare to a quality maple kit.
Quality
Im not very confident in Tama's quality on their lower end models... Tama gets their reputation from the Star Classic Kit.
Value
wait for the pear export series to go on sale at guitar center... usually they throw in an extra 10" tom :)
Manufacturer Support
never dealt with Tama
The Wow Factor
Nothing appeals to me about this Tama Kit
