As a professional guitarist, I was looking for a dreadnought guitar with excellent intonation. Due to budget constraints, I was debating between a lower end Martin or a higher end Takamine. I was pleasantly surprised when I received this guitar. Just the right size, low action, and superb intonation. I couldn't be more pleased.
Sound
I wanted a cedar top for the warmness factor to compliment my finger-style playing. It has a rich tone with nice sustain.
Features
As mentioned, the solid cedar top and solid sapelle back give me the exact combination I was looking for.
Ease of Use
Action was perfect right out of the box. The standard light gauge strings seemed much lighter due to the playability. I was concerned at first that the dreadnought would be too big due to my other guitars being the next size down, but for me, it is just right. The asymmetrical neck is also is very comfortable for me.
Quality
The guitar is understated in appearance (my preference), but the fit and finish was superb. No flaws
Value
I took a chance on this guitar, counting on the pro series from Takamine to be assembled with extra care. I am delighted with what I've received and if this is any indication of what Takamine is trying to do with it's Pro Series, I can heartily recommend it.
Manufacturer Support
No need to contact them at this point.
The Wow Factor
This guitar had just what I was looking for: solid woods, low action, excellent intonation, and fine construction. Having been a performing guitarist for 35 years, I am not easily impressed, but this guitar has done it.

This guitar is very elegant in its simplicity. Very comfortable to play and it sounds very warm yet clear and articulate. Volume is pretty good. The electronics are awesome! I cannot believe how perfect the electronics are.
