Been playing guitar, and anything else with strings, for 47 years and have owned some of the best, and still do. I bought this guitar more than a year ago from ZZounds primarily for open tunings . It became my go to axe almost immediately. It almost equals my Guild D-40C. Great sound, the action was very nice and the intonation was perfect out of the box. Has a great sound, bass, mids and highs are all nicely balanced acoustically, and the electronics work well when it's plugged in. The look and finish were exceptional. A great guitar for the price. It's such a nice guitar, I'm buying one for my nephew.
Sound
Excellant...It's good for anything I want to play.....and I play every type of music
Features
It's great to have the onboard tuner...but you have to work a bit to learn how to operate the electronics......but hell we all had to learn how to walk.
Ease of Use
The electronics work very well...depending on your equipment
Quality
I've been playing this axe for more than a year, and it keeps getting better with age.
Value
Absolutely, comparable to guitars priced twice as much....3 or 4 times the price, not so much.
Manufacturer Support
Had no problems.....To late Now
The Wow Factor
It looks great , guitar playing friends have come over to jam and they love it. Several are buried in my back yard for not giving it back...LOL.

I like the sound it gives, even though the quality of the finish is not that great. I think I got my money's worth.

"Quality Control Lacking"

At first glance, this guitar looks very well made. Finish is great. The spruce top had some knots in it which I was not happy about...the rest of the guitar was finished great, rosette was beautifully done, but they should have picked a clear piece of spruce for the top. Neck and frets are extremely well machined and dressed for what they are. They say the neck is a C shape, but in reality its more like a very soft U shape almost a C but not quite...had I known this I would not have bought the guitar as I am a C shape kinda guy all the way. The sound of the guitar is nice in ways, in other ways so-so. They say the ash wood is "snappy", and it is extremely "snappy", almost too much so for my taste...but this is right there in the description so I can't complain. It is however lacking in bass, and the whole reason I got a jumbo was to have a deep rich bass, which this really doesn't have. It's there, but not much.Where I really had a problem with this guitar is that the neck was bowed back from the 14th fret where the neck meets the body, resulting in the strings buzzing in some places across the neck and completely fretting out, rendering the guitar unplayable This is not a problem that can be fixed with a setup or a truss rod adjustment. It results in the manufacturer using wood that is too green and not cured when they make the guitar (in other words they are rushing to mass-produce something). When the wood does dry, it warps back and there is nothing that can be done about it.Somewhere in the chain of supply, at Takamine or Zzounds, there should have been enough quality control that this guitar did not make it to market. That didn't happen. To their credit, Zzounds picked up the phone on the weekend and is sending me a return label to ship it back to them. I will be ordering another guitar from Zzounds from another manufacturer that has better quality control.
